When?

The Institute will begin 9:00 a.m. on Monday, July 17, 2006, and conclude at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 19, 2006.

Where?

The Institute will be held in the Health, Leisure, and Sports Building at the University of West Florida in Pensacola.

Who Should Attend?

Elementary, middle, and high school physical education teachers in Alabama, Georgia, Florida and Mississippi who are interested in learning the latest ideas on how to enhance fitness in physical education should attend the Institute.

What Will Participants Learn?

This three-day, hands-on training will focus on fitness education content, fun-filled instructional strategies, integrating fitness in traditional games and activities, meaningful student assessment, exciting and innovative equipment, and the use of technology to address national and state standards.

Who Will Be The Instructors?

The Institute’s instructors will include National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE) Teachers of the Year and other outstanding guest speakers.

Will Participants Be Able To Purchase Sportime Equipment?

Sportime is the official equipment supplier for the Institute. The equipment will be liquidated at the conclusion of the Institute at a 50% reduction off the Sportime catalog price.

Can Participants Earn Inservice Points And/Or Graduate Credit?

The participants will be given inservice materials they can take back to their school districts’ staff development office for inservice points. Participants will also be able to take the Institute for graduate credit.

How Much Does The Institute Cost?

The costs for the three-day Institute are:

·  registration fee $85

·  meals $18 per day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner

·  housing in dorms $24 per night
