Commitment to Excellence
●I believe that my participation in the Utah County 4-H Livestock Program is to strengthen my own knowledge, ability, and skills as a livestock feeder, manager, and exhibitor. Because of this I will do my own work to the full extent of which I am capable.
●I believe that I am responsible for the proper care and humane treatment of my animal while raising high quality, safe, and wholesome food. Because of this I will not use abusive, fraudulent, deceptive, illegal, or questionable practices in feeding, fitting, and showing my animals and I will not allow my parents, leaders, supervisors, or any other individual to do so either.
●I believe that while raising my animal I am an advocate for the livestock industry. I understand that community members and other youth are watching my behavior. Because of this I will act in a way that does not misrepresent myself, my family, 4-H, or my livestock in any way.
●I believe that it is my responsibility to be informed. Because of this I will read, understand, and follow the rules, without exception, of all livestock events or shows in which I am a participant and ask that my parents and leaders do the same.
●I believe that my livestock project is an example of what life has to offer. Because of this I will demonstrate strong moral character and sportsmanship, no matter the outcome.
●I believe that I will get out of this program what I put in. Because of this I will do my part to make my participation in this project an enjoyable and positive experience for myself, my family, my club, and my community.
●I believe that honesty is the best policy. Because of this I consent to having my animal(s) subjected to drug testing.
