PLEASE COMPLETE THE “BELMONT LOCAL SCHOLARSHIPS & BURSARIES GENERAL APPLICATION FORM” that is available ONLINE TO APPLY FOR THESE AWARDS. Please complete online, print and submit with all supporting documents by the deadline.

*Please note that you must be a grade 12 student in good standing who is continuing on to post-secondary program in the fall of 2016.

Archie Stevenson Memorial Technical Award

·  Awarded to a graduating student who is pursuing a career in the trades.

Belmont Bursary

·  Must be a graduating student who makes a positive and at times unacknowledged contribution to the daily life of the school.

Belmont Collision

·  Awarded to a student who has good academic standing and preference given to students with an interest in automotive.

Evedar’s Bistro Aboriginal Student Award

·  Awarded to a graduating Aboriginal student going on to a post-secondary program, preference given to a student with financial need.

Evedar’s Bistro Music Scholarship

·  Awarded to a graduating student in good standing who has been involved in music activities in the school and the community. They must be continuing on to a post-secondary in music and plan to pursue a career in music. Financial need is a consideration.

Juan de Fuca Veterinary Clinic Award

·  Awarded to a strong academic student pursuing a post-secondary program in biology, science or animal sciences.

Langford Women’s Institute

·  Awarded to a student whose interests include foods, nutrition, the culinary arts, fashion or agriculture.

Lifetouch Canada Scholarship

·  Awarded to a student who has good academic standing and good citizenship.

Rein Eberle Memorial Scholarship

·  Must be an active volunteer and/or participant in football, who demonstrates superior skill. Financial need will be considered. Proof of registration is required before payment of funds.

Royal Roads Running Club Scholarship

·  Must be a graduating student who is involved in a sport(s) but who does not excel so is therefore not usually recognized, who does his best to always show up for practices and games and tries his/her best for the team or for the school and who works hard academically but may not obtain high marks. Proof of registration before payment of funds. Financial need will be considered.

Saunders Subaru Scholarship

·  Must be a graduating student who has a strong academic record, displays good citizenship and social responsibility at school and in the community. The applicant is a dedicated and hard-working student who will attend post-secondary.

Spotswood Memorial Scholarship

·  Awarded to a graduating student athlete (preference for a member of the girls basketball team) going to post-secondary. Recognized for excellence in academics and sports and character. Interested in international travel and sport in the community.

Turner Lane Development Corporation Bursary

·  Must be a graduating student who has a strong academic record, displays good citizenship and social responsibility at school and in the community. The applicant is a dedicated and hard-working student who will pursue a business program in post-secondary.

Western Foods Scholarship

·  Awarded to a student who has good academic standing and good citizenship.

Westshore Developers Association Scholarship

·  Must be a graduating student pursuing post-secondary studies in the building trades or engineering as it relates to construction.

Westshore Lions Club: Lion H. Ralph Day Bursary

·  For a student going into post-secondary studies that has demonstrated strong academic achievement and financial need.

□  Belmont Cabaret Scholarship (Get a paper application from the Scholarship Bin or from Ms Dawson)

This award is open to students in grades 9 through 12 to assist with tuition for programs in the Fine Arts including: music, dance, acting or visual art.

□  DFH Real Estate Ltd. Westshore Scholarship (A paper application is needed: see the Scholarship Bin.)

Applicant must provide evidence of application to a recognized post-secondary institution in business or economics, demonstrate financial need, provide service to the community, and maintain a good standard of academic achievement

□  Metchosin Fire Department Delaney Dunlop Memorial Scholarship (A paper application is needed: see the Scholarship Bin.)

Awarded to a student going to post-secondary next fall who demonstrated school and community involvement. Preference will be given to a student going to the University of Victoria in political science and/or to a student residing in Metchosin.

□  Myles Mansell Memorial Scholarship (A paper application is needed: see the Scholarship Bin.)

Awarded to a student in the reserves or cadets who plans to join the military OR was a behind the scenes volunteer for PACE musicals.

□  Westshore Basketball Graduation Bursary (A paper application is needed: see the Scholarship Bin.)

Awarded to a student who volunteers with youth sports, basketball in particular, through officiating, coaching, fund-raising, and other activities that benefit local youth sports organizations.

□  Westshore Sunrise Rotary Club (A paper application is needed: see the Scholarship Bin.)

Awarded to a student going into post-secondary, including trades programs, and who has need for financial assistance. Students must write an essay on service they have performed in the school or community that goes beyond themselves and their own interests.
