Grace Notes February 142016

Noted: —Teresa Pasquale in Abiding with God

We live in a time when we are called, as people of God and reflections of Jesus, to wake up to the world as it is. The prayer we are called into is one that asks more of us than to just show up to our own lives—we are asked to transform and be transformed in the act of prayer. Then, we are called to be the act of prayer in the world.

Our lives are intended to be intercessory prayer for the world. We must prayer for the world, not only in the pews of Sunday worship but also in the streets, in the middle of suffering. Let the prayers we say now, in the quiet, express themselves in our lives in the world, breath after breath, day after day. Let us be the justice-seekers and the change-makers born of our intercession in silence, shouted into the world each and every day.
