4 WG meetings; 8 TG meetings; SC 13 meeting

TG2 Publications - Need to rework the way this TG works. Efficiency. 13L need chair. No progress since 2014. Need 2 year extension. 13A reaffirmation ballot. 13B-1 and 13I in review. 13K needs review – AI by TG8. 13M needs 2 year extension. 13M-4 reaffirmation ballot. 13M-6 API for ballot preparation. RP 19C API legal review reaffirmation ballot 5 year.

TG3 OBM Testing - WG3 NAF PSD and WG4 NAF Activity Modifiers Reported on their current testing and plans for future testing. Ad Hoc Committee chilled mirror Hygrometer procedure chaired by Jose Perez and needs WG members. TG3 to meet and discuss changing name of TG and RP to NAF, NADF, OBM/SBM

TG4 WBM Testing - API RP13I and B-1updates were discussed. Adhoc WGs were formed to finalize documents before January 2016 meeting. WG1 Needs a chairman. Simulated drill solids in place of Rev Dust. WG3 continued with the PSD of LCM. A charge for a SAG WG was discussed and needs to be reworked for winter meeting submission.

TG5 Solids Control - Chair needed.WG3 discussed converting API RP13C to an API Standard. This is a 4 phase project funded by API over 4 years 2014 – 2017, with a total of $145,000. $92,910 remaining.

TG6 Heavy Brines - WG3 needs chairman. WG 7, 10, 11 need to continue work (round robin). WG9 Don Lindblad needs WG members.

TG7 Rheology and Hydraulics - Chairman retired. Checking on status of 13D rewrite.

TG8 Standard Materials - WG1 Standard Reference Materials: Refernce bentonite and calibration bentonite are the same. Approved changing the name to Reference/CalibrationBentonite. WG6 Density Measurements- continuing work on helium pycnometer procedure as the alternate measurement device for density measurement. Include nitrogen as a test gas.

TG9 Completion, Stimulation & Fracturing Fluids - API 13M - Measurement of Viscous Properties of Completion Fluids: Published 7/2004, Reaffirmed 10/2010, requested 2 year extension.

TG10 Proppants- Both WG active. WG1 Standard 19C Physical Properties Testing-legal review of Pluviator pending. WG2 RP 19D long term conductivity testing. WG formed and chairs assigned. Reaffirmed.

Major Concerns:

Help with increased Oil Company participation…especially in leadership roles (WG/TG chairman).

Attendance down considerably from last meeting. Down turn in industry is probably the reason.

3rd party labs - much of SC 13s initial work is done in Operator and Supplier labs. We then need to validate results in impartial labs. SC 13 is having difficulty identifying suitable labs. Can CSOEM inquire within other SCs for labs they are using.

SC Officer Succession Plan:

Brent Estes (Chevron) chair assumed chairmanship. Saleh Al-Ammari Saudi Aramco) vice chairmanship.
