"I still can't believe it," I said from the back seat of the car. "How did you get me into a boarding school?"
"It wasn't easy hon," my mother said from the passenger seat. "We had to do a lot to get you in here."
"Aw, you did it for me? Wait are you trying to get rid of me." I said.
"Of course we're trying to get rid of you," she said sarcastically. "We'll be free once Skylar Collins is out of our house."
"Oh, so that's how you feel, is it?" We laughed.
"C'mon Skylar, you can't be that happy to leave us, are you?" said my best friend Marilyn.
"Well, I'm excited for the experience, but I am going to miss you guys so much!"
"You better," Said my other best friend Will. "After all, we're all you got!" he said, ushering to everyone in the car.
"That's so not true," I said, a bit more defensively then I should have. "I have a stuffed dog too."
We were on our way to the airport, where I would take my plane to my new school.
It seems too soon when I get on the plane to leave. Everybody was waving me goodbye.
The plane ride wasn't anything special, a bag of peanuts and an in flight movie. Three hours later the plane landed in California.
I grabbed my luggage and found my limo driver.
"Where to, Miss Collins?" He asked politely.
"Coleman's Boarding School." I told him.
"Really," he seemed surprised. "Do you have a brother that goes to Coleman's?"
"No."
"Did they start accepting girls?" He asked, interested.
"What do you mean?" I asked, starting to wonder what he was talking about.
"Coleman's has been a boarding school for boys for about 100 years now." He said matter-of-factly.
"What?!?" I shrieked and everybody at the airport stared.
I apologized and everybody went back to what they were doing. I turned back to my limo driver.
"Take me there, and maybe they can explain this, or at least I can call my mom." I told him.
"Alright then." He opened my door.
The drive was very quiet and uncomfortable, and I just stared out the window most of the time. We went down a beautiful dirt road that looked more like a tunnel, because of the trees arched over it. It was quite beautiful.
The limo stopped and my driver got out and opened the door for me. He got all my bags and put them next to me.
"Should I take these in, Miss Collins?" He asked sweetly.
"No, I've got them. Thank you." I replied.
"Okay then."
"I never got your name."
"It's Sebastian Michaels."
"Then, thank you, Mr. Michaels."
"Good luck Miss Collins."
"Thank you, I'm going to need it. I hope I can see you again."
"If you ever need a limo, you can ask for me." He offered as he got back in the car.
"Okay, Mr. Michaels." I said while he drove away.
What a nice man, I thought. I turned and faced the school. I was ready to face my doom or demise, whichever came first.
"Oh, boy." I muttered as I walked into the office building.
As I entered the office I was eyed by the secretary. She was probably the most tacky person I have ever seen. Her hair was in a messy bun and she wore so much perfume that I could smell her from the door.
"You must be Skylar Collins, correct?" She asked, not stopping her typing on the computer.
"Yes ma'am, that's me." I said as politely as I could.
"Principal Franklin is waiting for you." She said, pointing to the door that had Principal Office written on it.
"Okay, thank you." I said and walked to the door. I knocked and a voice told me to come in.
"Oh, Miss Collins, I've been expecting you. Please take a seat," he said and ushered me to the seat in front of his desk. "So have you noticed something about this school?" He asked.
"Yes, sir, I have. It is a school for boys." I replied awkwardly.
"That's correct. We have never before allowed girls into this school, but your mother was persistent, and she payed a pretty penny to get you in, so we allowed it," He said very professionally. "We expect you to behave, and follow all of the rules, Miss Collins."
"I will, sir, you won't have to worry about me."
"Very good, here is a school map and your room key." He said handing me a small bag.
"Thank you, good bye." I said and left.
My room was room 213, I found it easily.
I took the bed closest to the window. Then I unpacked and put my laptop on the desk next to my bed. I set up a connection and waited for it to load, then stuck my suitcase under my bed and got out my summer book.
I was reading Twilight, at the part where the Cullens were playing baseball during the storm, I heard the doorknob turn. Oh boy, here he comes, I thought. I looked at myself in the mirror to make sure I didn't look too bad. My dark blonde hair was fine and my black jeans and dark purple top looked alright, okay, at least I looked good. Someone opened the door. He had dirty blonde hair and blue-green eyes. I could tell this was going to be a long year.
"Hello," I said quietly, and then I spoke a little louder, "I'm going to be your roommate."
"What are you talking about?!" He almost shouted. "First off, this is an all boys school, and second even if it was co-ed you wouldn't be sharing a room with me!"
"I know, but the principal put me here, and I don't know what else I'm going to do." I told, setting my book down next to my laptop softly.
He sat down on his bed and put his bag on the floor. We sat there in silence for what seems like hours. The silence was finally broken when my stomach growled. I blushed when he looked at me.
"Sorry, I haven't eaten anything since the plane ride." I said blushing.
"That's okay, me either." he said with a little smile.
"By the way, I'm Skylar." I said smiling.
"I'm Hunter." He said.
"Well, I'm hungry, you want to go get something to eat?" I asked.
"Yeah, let's go eat." He said. I made it to the door and froze.
