Who we are

Festive is a ministry partner of Scripture Union and our aim is to support Christian work in Further Education (FE) and Sixth Forms, specifically with those aged 16-18 years. We have six staff who work from home in different locations in England and Wales.

The job role

We are looking for a capable and experienced administrator with some bookkeeping experience to support us in the crucial day to day running of Festive and to join our friendly staff team.

As well as being a committed Christian with a passion to see young people reached with the gospel, the successful candidate will have strong organisational skills with a good eye for detail. They will also have experience working in a small business/charity.

The role will carry various responsibilities including general bookkeeping, organising wages and payments, preparing basic financial reports and forecasts,handling communications and some social media and other general admin tasks. The role will also include coordinating prayer support for students and chaplains in colleges.

The job can be done from home though we will require at least half the hours to be completed during office hours (Mon-Fri / 9am-5pm).

The Role requires the post holder to coordinate Christian prayer and support for Christian young people in colleges. A Genuine Occupational Requirement therefore applies to this role in terms of the Equality Act (Part 1, Schedule 9). This post requires the occupant to (a) have a personal faith in Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord, (b) to believe the Holy Scriptures, as originally given, to be divinely inspired and entirely trustworthy, and to have supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct, (c) to be active in local church life, and (d) to sign in agreement to Festive’s statement of faith. These principles are required to be applied alongside the professional skills necessary in this role. The role will also require an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure & Barring Service.
