WORKSHOP PROPOSAL DUE DATE

Workshops are an integral and important part of Ozwater – the Australian Water Association’s (the Association) international annual conference. They offer unique, concentrated education that will provide career-enhancing benefits. Workshops should be interactive and participatory in format and enable participants to contribute via group discussions, producing outcomes etc. It is essential to keep this information in mind when preparing your proposal, if there will be no interactive component to your submission please consider submitting a panel session instead.

In order for the Ozwater’18 Program Committee to evaluate your proposal, please provide all the required information in its entirety. Be specific and state clear goals and objectives.

If selected, the final workshop agenda and confirmed presenters must not vary greatly from the information given in this application. The information on this application form will be used to advertise the workshop in the registration brochure, on the Ozwater website and Ozwater app.

Please complete this form and submit via the Ozwater website (www.ozwater.org – Call for Papers page) by Friday, 8 September 2017. Submissions via fax or email will not be responded to or considered for the Ozwater’18 program.

If your workshop is selected for inclusion on the Ozwater’18 program, it will be scheduled on a date and time which suits the rest of the program and does not conflict with other sessions on the same or similar topic. This will be confirmed at the time of notification and will not be able to be re-scheduled once the program has been launched.

Conditions of acceptance:

Before you submit your workshop submission please review the conditions for presenting below:

•  A paid registration for the workshop facilitator/chair completed by Thursday, 30 November 2017

•  All other presenters will need to confirm registration by Wednesday, 31 January 2018

o  Workshop presenters have the option to access discounted presentation conference rate; or

o  Workshop only access which allows presenters to attend the exhibition and only the workshop they are presenting at free of charge

•  Electronic presentation submitted by Monday, 23 April 2018

o  The workshop facilitator/chair will need to provide a single electronic presentation for the workshop

o  Please note that the electronic presentation will be included in the conference proceedings

•  Electronic material for delegates submitted by Monday, 23 April 2018 (this is optional)

o  All electronic material will be provided to via conference app and email to all attendees

o  Any hard copy handouts will need to be printed by the organisers and distributed on the day. AWA will not be able to provide any printing support

•  Confirm that the workshop has not been previously presented in any other form. This must be confirmed at time of online submission.

•  Be available to present at any time during Ozwater’18 in Brisbane, Australia during 8 – 10 May 2018

Information Regarding Presenters

The careful selection of speakers is critical to the success of the workshop. The Chair should strive to enlist speakers with the highest level of expertise.

Please contact each presenter and confirm their interest and availability prior to submitting your proposal. When a presenter is invited to participate, he or she must be informed that it is on a voluntary basis and that AWA does not cover any expenses including conference registration, travel and accommodation.

All workshop submissions will be notified of acceptance into the Ozwater’18 program during late October 2017. If you are accepted into the program you may slightly update and edit marketing material elements of the workshop but any major changes will void your submission and it will be offered to another submission.

The lead contact or workshop chair is responsible for ensure that all content is collected from the other presenters and submitted to AWA by the established due dates. The lead contact or workshop chair will be required to collect the presentation materials such as but not limited to PowerPoint presentation, marketing material, presenter photos & bios, electronic handouts and conference app material.
The lead contact or workshop chair will also be responsible for updating and informing their presenters. AWA will be unable to communicate with individual presenters on your behalf.
