Hello South County Families,
Recently I was appointed Chairman of South County Athletic Association and I am excited to start the process in helping with the continued success of our SCAA program! I am sure many of you have seen signs for our new Travel Soccer Program. We are very excited about starting this program. Please go to our website for the times/locations for our kick off. Tryouts start June 3rd. Recreational Soccer will open Spring of 2014.
I have known South County High Schools Director of Student Activities, Mike Pflugrath for several years and he is very excited to partner with us for our future. He has assured me that we will partner on future camps, some field/gym space and other exciting things for our South County community.
Some of our future sports include:
Flag Football-
I have met with Gerry Pannoni, South County High School's Varsity Football Coach and we will be opening up a Flag Football program very soon. Gerry and his staff will be involved with our program and we are looking forward to starting this program.
Basketball Boys/Girls-
I have spoken with Travis Hess, the new SCHS Varsity Boys Head Coach about having future camps and partnership between SCAA & SCHS. To start off our partnership, Travis will be holding camps during the weeks of July 15th & July 29th. Please go to Stallionsports.org and click on Varsity Basketball, then camps & clinics. Travis is excited and committed to South County Athletic Association (SCAA) and excited about our future! I have also spoken with Tiffany Lockett, the SCHS Girls Varsity Coach and she would also like to have future camps and involvement with SCAA.
Field Hockey-
Leah Conte is excited to join with us on future camps and I am looking for some help to open up a Field Hockey Youth Program here in the South County Community.
Youth Track-
I have also had discussions with South County High School's Track & Field Coach TD Holsclaw, and we will be opening up a Youth Track Program very soon. TD will include his staff and is very excited to help us with the start of the Track program.
Once I finalize the details of these programs, I will email everyone the information.
South County Athletic Association (SCAA) is continuing to build and strengthen our existing programs, and we look forward to a bright future. Football & Cheer registrations are open now.
