RISK ASSESSMENT

It should be noted that these are not timed races, as such, and therefore pressure to take risks by runners should be unnecessary. Thus the use of pavements when participants thin out should be encouraged as well as safe crossing of side roads. Marshals are there to give route directions and advise.

It is intended for runners togather and warm up in Allhallows Field. They will be brought to the High Street via Northcote Lane where a police officer will be present with race officials as everyone goes to the Start Line. Although specific key points have been noted where police positions are recommended, officers will move where they think best for the safe and smooth running of the races.

1 MILE RACE

FOR ALL DRIVERS. A “CROSS RIGHT (WHEN SAFE)” SIGN WILL BE ERECTED IN

PAVEMENT IN THE LAST SECTION. “CAUTION RUNNERS” SIGN NEAR TO THE RAILWAY

BRIDGE FACING NORTH AND IN JERRARD CLOSE.

NOTES:THE BEND IS A NICE SWEEP SO BUNCHING UNLIKELY. A “KEEP LEFT” SIGN WILL BE

PLACED NEAR TO ‘THE STAR’. SLOWER PARTICIPANTS TO USE THE PATH.

A lead car is not required in this race, but it is recommended that if the field is large and spread out (widthwise), then TWO back markers should be present with hi-vis tops.

A lead car is a possibility for the 3 mile race. Only ONE back marker with a hi-vis top should be necessary.
