Old Dolphin Owners’ Alliance
Following are people who own pre-1986 Dolphins and are willing to be contacted via email by other pre-1986 Dolphin owners for input and advice on issues related to saving the Dolphins.
To be added to this list, send your particulars (year of Dolphin and name and email address and any other particulars you care to share). IMPORTANT: PUT “DOLPHIN OWNER” in the subject line.
You don’t have to be old to be a member of this list, but your Dolphin does.

- Mark and Laurie Rosen - I've been on the group for a while now but I just read
it every day and don't post very often. My significant other and I own a 1981 Dolphin - 21 foot,k 67,000 miles. I love it. Mark does most of the trouble shooting and he is on the camper group list too. Mark's email is and you can add him too since he is more mechanically inclined. I have been fixing up the inside and he is
doing the mechanical stuff. We're in Northern California.
- John Oman – Seattle. - I just inherited an '85 Dolphin 22 with the Toyota 22R-EC EFI engine... It was my father's and has not run in several years. It has quite low mileage (about 40k if memory serves me right).
It's got a fuel problem... (It runs if I spray gas into the intake)... Any idea where and how to get to the fuel pump or filters?
Do you know if any of the secondary market manuals cover this chassis???

- , Hello from California,
I just purchased a 1985 Toyota Dolphin with 61,899 miles on it. I know nothing about owning one but here I am! I love to camp. It seems to be in fair condition. The only thing glaring is the bathroom sink is cracked. So that will be my first replacement. Jeanne
- Judith Harper, 1986 Dolphin - 112k miles -
- My name is Greg. I'm located in Dallas, Texas. I recently bought an '82 Toyota Dolphin. Mine is a little unusual because the previous owner gutted the inside to install a new roof. So, I have pretty much a shell with a new roof. All the tanks, pluming, etc. are still in place. It's just all the cabinets, seats, etc. have been removed. I have a big project before me, but I've made some progress. I'm first dealing with mechanical issues of the truck. I'd be happy for you to include me in your list of owners of older Dolphins.
Here are the particulars:
1982 Toyota Dolphin 21', 22R engine, 4 speed manual, odometer shows 90,999 but it doesn't work. Only the 10th's turn. Just bought this handyman special. Previous owner gutted the inside while installing a new roof. Would like to discuss it with other '82 owners.

- , I have a 1977 Toyota Dolphin and would very much like to get a repair type manual. I have the Chilton Manual for 1977 Totoya's but that doesn't cover any of the wiring to the RV or different parts such as I just learned the the Dolphin and Chinook have a different type gas tank than any of the other toyotas. Can any one help me on this?

Original call for members:
I'd like to propose that those of us with '80 to '85 Dolphins form a simple alliance, so we can email one another (on and offlist) with '80 to '85 Dolphin specific questions/challenges as they come up.
All of us are dedicated to keeping our older campers functioning optimally. And we've probably encountered and solved a lot of the same problems. So let's share what we've learned and be available to offer advice when one of us is experiencing a challenge.
I'd like to compile a list of email addresses of 80 to '85 (or '86 or so) Dolphin owners and post it to the files area.
updated—4-17-04 – This is my final update. I won’t be maintaining this list any more.
Best,
