The Bruthen Blues and Arts Festival Friday Night Blues Jam is an opportunity for keen amateur (remove solo) musicians and outfits to get up and play two songs to an enthusiastic audience. Acts are judged on several aspects of their performance including: ability to ‘jam’ with others, originality, crowd response, talent and skill. Jammers are in the running for several great prizes including weekend festival passes and a paid set at the Blues Café on the Saturday night. It is a blues festival, so we encourage artists to perform this genre, however any genre is welcomed. The use of pre-recorded backing tracks is not permitted at this live jam.
Some simple rules apply:
· Strictly 2 songs per act (an artist might play one song solo, and invite others to jam for a second song)
· Spots are limited. Entries will be accepted in a ‘first in best dressed’ basis until all places are filled.
· You will be notified that your application has been received and of the time you have been allocated. You can request a preffered time slot (below) which we will accommodate where possible, however the slot you are allocated via email is final. If you are not at the event on time you will loose your spot
· If there are any remaining spots on the night artists can register at the venue
