Shepton Mallet 10k – Sunday 25 October

Eric and Jan ran the Shepton Mallet 10k on a glorious sunny day. A rather hilly course around Shepton with a nasty hill on the way back! Nice views at the top of the initial climb though; the route was through country lanes.Eric 48:30mins and Jan 53:02 [2nd in age group] If you like hills, this is one to do!

Templer Ten – Sunday 1 November

Wow, what turnout of Coasters for the Templer Ten off road race at Stover School. This revamped race organised by Teignbridge Trotters started and finished at the school and took the 248 runners along the banks of the River Teign along Templer way and back via Stover woods and lake before sending the runners up a nasty hill to the finish. Ross was first Coaster to finish in a superb time of 1:13:03, next Eric 1:18:32 gaining him 1st in age group, Greg 1:24:13, Amy 1:27:54, Gill 1:28:16, Les 1:30:58, Simon 1:32:32, Jan in 1:53:17 getting 2nd in age group, Shirley 1:41:56, Graham 1:41:23, Lorna 1:43:21, Mike 1:58:46, Karla 2:01:53, Dave 2:11:09. Coasters ladies team coming 5th.All runners received a mug and were rewarded with tea and cake afterwards, well done to all Coasters who took part, GREAT EFFORT!

Sodbury Slog – Sunday 8 November

Simon was a lone Coaster to travel up to Chipping Sodbury near Bristol to take on the Sodbury Slog; this 10 mile off roader is probably one of the muddiest and wettest runs you will ever enter. 1200 runners took part in this tough event and after the first mile on the road runners are treated to ‘non-stop’ mud and water for the remainder of the race. Simon completed the race in 1:36:22 and finished in 385th place, all runners received a lovely tech T-shirt.

Plymouth 10k – Sunday 15 November

Simon and Graham were the only Coasters to take part in the Plymouth 10k , nearly 1500 runners took part in this popular event run along an out an back undulating course from the city centre along the embankment and back, Simon finished in 51:27 and Graham in 56:44, all runners received a medal, T-Shirt and goody bag

Malta Marathon Challenge – 20/21/22 November

Pat in a very hot Malta for the Malta Marathon Challenge, and a challenge it certainly was, apart from dealing with the Maltese roads, pavements and traffic! there’s the hills and heat to contend with. It’s a very interesting event. A marathon spread over 3 days. Day 1 consists of 11k from Rabat a steep uphill to Dingly Dell, Day2 consists of 6k from Pretty Bay and Day 3 an uphill 25k slog from St Paul’s to Valetta. Still struggling with an injury Pat completed in 6:30 hours

Bicton Blister – Bicton Lite – Sunday 29 November

Eight Coasters took part in the Bicton Blister 10 miler andBicton Lite 5 miler, this popular race across Woodbury Common with lots of mud, water and hill., 413 runners took on the 10 mile event,Simon was first home in the Blister in 1:35:06 with Les hot on his heels in 1:36:01, Shirley finished in 1:45:55 winning a trophy for her age group.

In the Lite 102 runners finished this 5 miler, Eric was first home in 39:53 which got him 1st in his age category, Jan was next in 44:56 which got her first in her age category, Chris came home in 50:27, Tryl and Mike ran in together in a time of 57:05, all runners in both events received a tech T-shirt.
