Request under Freedom of Information Act 2000
Thank you for your recent Freedom of information request for the information shown below, which we received on 28/08/08.
Request Details -
1) How much was spent by each Welsh NHS Trust on employing taxis to collect and drop-off Welsh patients between their home, hospital or between healthcare settings.
2) A breakdown by medical speciality of (1)
3) The number of volunteer drivers used by each Welsh NHS trust and/or held on record by each trust
4) The cost of employing volunteer drivers to collect and drop-off Welsh patients between their home, hospital or between healthcare settings
Timescales –“over the last 5 years but realistically for whenever you have collected data up to that time frame”
We can confirm that we hold the above details in part and our response in shown below. Unfortunately, we are only able to provide figures for the 2007/08 year. For your ease, I have broken down the information into the 4 parts as shown above.
Response Details -
1) For the year 2006/07 the Trust spent £4400 on Patient Transportation costs.
2) We are unable to breakdown the costs by medical speciality.
3) As a Trust we do not employ or use volunteer drives.
