Important Benefits Announcement
Great news!
On March 10, 2014, we will enhance our administrative systems, providing you and your enrolled plan participants with additional features and functionality, as well as improved customer service for managing your flexible spending accounts. These enhancements will help simplify your experience and improve efficiency in your office.
The following features for employers are coming soon:
- A secure employer portal(accessed through the existing UMR employer portal) provides a convenient, role-based online benefit management solution. Designated employer staff members can perform frequently used tasks, access employee accounts to answer questions, view and print reports and access helpful resources.
- Key employer reports and notifications are accessible via the secure self-service employer portal, or you can choose to have them delivered to you via e-mail. These may be generated as needed or automatically generated and distributed based on a calendar or triggered event-based setting.
Your employee participants will enjoy the following advantages:
- The consumer portal(accessed through the existing UMR member portal) provides 24/7 secure online access to the participant’s entire array of consumer-driven health care accounts. From the portal, participants can view account information and activity, submit claims, and upload documentation, view claim details and notifications, access forms and link to other helpful information. In addition, explanation of benefits (EOB) statements will have a new look and feel, allowing your employees to easily understand the processing of their claims.
- Automated statements and notifications to the participant are accessible via e-mail,the consumer portal, and mail (when necessary).
- Participants may continue to use the debit cards
they use today without interruption. - Individual documentation request letters will now
be sent in lieu of debit card statement notifications.
- A mobile applicationwill become availableduring the first quarter of 2014, providing tech-savvy participants on-the-go access to account balances right from their iPhone®, iPod Touch®, iPad® or Android®-powered device. Participants simply log in to the mobile app (UMR Consumer Driven Health) and check their available balances in their consumer-driven health accounts. Participants also can submit claims and receipts for reimbursement, and send receipts for substantiation using their mobile device’s camera.
Please note, your participants will need to log in to their FSA consumer portal on the UMR Website prior to downloading the app or attempting to log in for the first time.
Your participants will experience a small transition period, during which time claims will not be processed or paid. The transition period begins March 5, 2014. We will resume processing and paying claims March 10, 2014. We have made every attempt to process and pay all claims received prior to the transition date. Debit cards will not be affected. Your participants may continue to use their debit cards during the transition period.
All changes to existing employee enrollment information, including demographic and election information, as well as new enrollee information received by UMR, will be placed on hold and will be entered by UMR on March 10, 2014. This applies to manual changes and changes submitted via any applicable eligibility files you may be sending to UMR for your FSA plan. Payroll contributionswereprocessed through March 4, 2014. Please note, dependent care FSA reimbursements may be delayed if your payroll contributions would normally be processed during this timeframe.
We are excited about these new capabilities and are confident they will increase the value of our services to you. If you have any questions, please contact your UMR strategic account executive.
Sincerely,
Your UMR Consumer Driven Health Team
