Salem Co-operative Bank Breaks Ground on New Branch Office

Salem, NH: Salem Co-operative Bank recently broke ground to celebrate the construction of a new 3,000 square foot branch office, located at 280 Merrimack Street, Methuen, MA.

To symbolize the importance of this project, Karen Sawyer, Director of Economic & Community Development, Greater Salem Chamber President Donna Morris, and Merrimack Valley Chamber President Joseph Bevilacqua, joined Bank Chairman David Beshara, President Ann Lally, Sarah Rastello, Vice President of Retail and Business Development among other members of the Board and Senior Management, at this event.

The new branch will offer Methuen and nearby communities full-service banking solutions for businesses and consumers.

“This expansion exemplifies the strength of Salem Co-operative Bank and our commitment to the local community at a time when economic growth has slowed,” said Ann Lally “In addition to bringing new jobs to the area, it will also afford all of our customers, especially those in the Methuen market, a convenient alternative to the Salem Main Branch.”

Designed by TMS Architects of Portsmouth and contracted to MCA Andrews of North Andover, the exterior appearance of the branch will tie the overall design to the character of local New England architecture with a simple transitional flare. Generous interior ceiling heights with ample controlled natural lighting will provide a comfortable atmosphere for customers. The branch will house four teller stations, office space for commercial, mortgage and investment services as well as two drive-up windows and a drive up ATM.

The branch is projected to be completed by Spring 2010.
