Wellness Coach/Personal Trainer

BackFirst offers a unique opportunity for an outgoing and motivated Personal Trainer/Health Awareness educator to join our On-site Employee Fitness and Wellness Program.

BackFirst provides wellness education and exercise training in a supportive environment to the employees of the San Francisco MTA. The staff of BackFirst focuses upon optimizing employee health and wellbeing through education and personal instruction, strength and flexibility training and addressing lifestyle changes such as improved nutrition and stress reduction.

Job Description:

·  Provide Personal Exercise Training and Health Coaching

·  Progress participants in supervised exercise and wellness programs

·  Provide computerized Health Risk Assessments (HRAs)

·  Assist staff with wellness program outreach via HealthStrong, our mobile exercise and health awareness vehicle, that travels to MTA Transit Divisions

Ideal Candidates should:

·  Current accredited personal trainingcertification(ACSM, NSCA, ACE) CurrentCPR/AEDandFirst Aid certification

·  California Driver’s license in good standing

·  Experience in a health related field such as physical therapy, kinesiology, nursing, exercise physiology, etc.

·  Have a strong passion for health and fitness

·  Have great communication skills and a desire to assist others

This program provides the opportunity for both professional and personal growth. On-the-job training and mentoring is provided.

Initial position is approximately 30 hours/week, M-F.

Pay: $15/hr. plus accrued sick time
