The next meeting of SPARKS will be held at Flying Field Wednesday, July 11th at 7:30. Note this is the second Wednesday of the month.
June Minutes
President Jim Stillwagon called the June meeting to order at 7:30. 15 Members were present. The minutes from the May meeting were approved as read. The Treasurer’s report was given and approved.
Old Business
We discussed our ongoing dealings with the county over the field.
New Business
We decided to have a workday at the field on June 24th. We cleaned the lot, removed and repositioned the impound rack and created new flight stations out of plastic pipe.
We agreed to have a fun fly event on Sunday July 22th. It will start at 4:00 and will likely follow the usual pattern of pizza at 6:00. You can also bring desserts, drinks or side dishes. We also discussed a swap meet which will likely coincide with the fun fly. You can list your name and a price and buyers will ask about your planes.
Tech Tips
It is often difficult to find very small tail wheels for small electric and 1/2A powered models. A good substitute is to screw a small metal eyehook into the bottom of the fuselage just in front of the rudder. Since it is round it looks like a tail wheel and since it is metal it lasts forever, even if you fly off of pavement.
