Curriculum Night

Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012 6:00 pm – 7:15 pm

Oak Park Silver Knights excitedly invites you to “walk through your student’s school day”! Our Curriculum Night will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012 @ 6:00 in 1st period class. You will meet each of your student’s teachers by following a “mini” bell schedule! You will be oriented to the classes by each of your student’s teachers. Please note this is NOT a parent/teacher conference night. This night is to meet the teacher and “walk through your student’s school day” learning about the curriculum in each class.

We look forward to seeing you Tuesday evening at Oak Park Middle School. Remember to report to 1st period class with your student at 6:00 pm!!

Faculty & Staff Responsibilities for Curriculum Night

Tuesday, September 11, 2012 6:00 pm – 7:15 pm

Mrs. Carroll: Phone call out ASAP and Monday, Sept. 10th (use the flyer)

Ms. Sims: Have Mr. Peeples put on marquee (Silver Knights – Curriculum Night – Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012 – 6:00 pm – 7:15 pm)

Mrs. Duren: call LES to advise of event because parking may overflow. Also get a good copy of e-Sembler instructions. Also provide a typed copy of the “mini” bell schedule to faculty/staff.

Ms. Jenkins: Have a few S.L. students out front and in the hallways to help direct traffic flow

Administration: Welcome/Greeting letter introducing administration and excitement about this school year and the good things happening

CLASSROOM TEACHERS

·  Have sign-in sheets ready

·  Have Syllabus available

·  Introduce self, briefly describe curriculum

·  Any special notices for the class, fees, etc.

·  Class policy & procedures & expectations

·  Display and bring notice to SWAG, HALLS, CRUD, & FLUSH

·  Define how communication will occur from school to home for your class

·  Homework expectations

·  Display student work (NO grades should be displayed)

·  (You may want to make up packets with the above information – Duren is working on getting copies of e-Sembler instructions)
