·  You may only “tee-up” the ball on your first shot.

Fairway – Closely cut area of grass between the Tee box and the green.

Green – The area where you use your putter and the flag is located.

Divot – A piece of ground dug up by a player’s club.

·  This should be replaced in the spot it came from.

·  Hitting the ball out-of-bounds

·  Whiffing

·  Hitting a ball in the water

·  Hitting someone else’s ball

Courtesies

-Always stand behind a player that is hitting a ball.

-Yell “fore” if you think a ball you hit might hit someone else.

-After the tee shot, the player farthest from the green should always hit next (even if it means they hit 2 or 3 shots before you get to hit again).

-There is a 2 minute limit in looking for a lost ball.

-Be considerate of all players around you.

·  Never swing the club if someone is standing too close.

·  Never hit a ball if you know you might be able to reach the group ahead of you.

·  Do not slow other groups down.

·  If a group has to wait too long for you, let them play through.

CLUBS

-Clubs are dived into 2 basic groups; woods and irons

-The lower the number on the club, the farther the distance and lower the flight.

-The higher the number on the club, the shorter the distance and higher the flight.

-A traditional set of clubs includes WOODS (driver, 3, 5) and IRONS (3, 5, 7, 9, putter)
