Job Summary:

Primary responsibilities include preparation of proposals and grant applications, and performance of responsible professional and administrative work in researching, identifying, developing and responding to public and private grant opportunities in the areas of Education, Youth Development, Health, Technology, and other related areas. Qualified candidates should possess excellent writing and computer skills (Microsoft Office Word, Access, PowerPoint and Excel), and database management skills. The candidate must be highly organized with the ability to implement systems and follow-up processes, able to effectively work under pressure, use independent judgment and produce a quality work product within tight time constraints. Previous experience will demonstrate a proven track record in securing new funding opportunities; comprehensive knowledge of research, and the ability to distinguish and identify funding opportunities for special programs.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a related field and a proven track record in grant writing and program development.

Minimum of two (2) years’ preparing grant and business applications.

Preferred experience with capital campaign proposals.

Skills:

Prefer the candidate to have experience in a youth development organization, computer literacy using word processing, databases (Raiser’s Edge strongly preferred), spreadsheets and presentation software; competence in time management and prioritization, handling of multiple tasks; strong interpersonal skills; contract accountability skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; detail and task oriented; proficient in research, interpreting, and analyzing diverse data and possess the ability to work collaboratively and independently to achieve state goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·  Researches and identifies new government and private funding prospects.

·  Generates proposals and supporting documents in response to solicitations.

·  Generates revenues for agency programs and services through timely

submission of well-researched, well-written and well-documented fund

raising proposals.

·  Secures program funding of at least $1,000,000 per calendar year.

·  Maintains and implements funding calendar activities, including cultivation

activities.

·  Writes reports to government, foundations and other funders.

·  Acts as liaison with program staff.

·  Collaborate with Controller and program staff to prepare program budget information.

·  Identifies funding opportunities and new program areas to match institutional priorities, using research tools.

·  Serves as a liaison to all funding agencies or organizations, including the Austin community.

·  Engages with program officers at organizations to solicit invitations to submit proposals.

·  Support BGCAA Board/Committees, as assigned, and appropriate.

·  Participate in activities to maintain good public relations for Club programs, services and activities.

·  Adhere to organizational policies and procedures as described in the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area’s Employee Handbook, BGCA's Ethics Policy and elsewhere.

·  Assist Resource Development department with special event preparation and carry-out.

·  Special projects as needed.
