PRASARI (legal name Rajarhat PRASARI) is a voluntary Organization registered under Societies Registration Act, West Bengal. The organization has been established in 2007, led by professionals to work with and for the rural families towards their secured and sustainable livelihoods and wellbeing. PRASARI has been working with over 19000 rural families across variety of agro-climatic regions in West Bengal, India, through its field based teams of Professionals.

Springs (Dhara or Jhora) are the lifeline of mountains. Approximately, 10 lakh people live in the Himalayan region of West Bengal and majority of the people depend on these mountain springs for their survival. Over time, it has been observed that these are drying up. This has created a severe threat to the entire ecosystem of the mountains. To combat the situation Government of West Bengal (GoWB) has taken up ‘Jharna Dhara’ (Springshed management) programme under MGNREGA. The organization is working in four Himalayan Districts (Darjeeling, Kalimpong, part of Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar) in collaboration with the State MGNREGA Cell and Gorkha Territorial Administration (GTA) under this programme.

Depending on the problem of the areas , PRASARI pitch in with a set of activities with a field based teams of Professionals. The key focus always remain livelihoods and Integrated Natural Resource Management (INRM). Partnering with the PRI and Govt. lione Departments, indeed is the main constituent.

The organization is looking for dynamic and hardworking development professionals to work and explore the field of Springshed Management, INRM based livelihoods promotion, skilled Development Professional with a distinct ability of fund raising from the Govt. agencies and Private Donors and people with expertise on supporting field Professionals with web-based monitoring systems.

Qualification and skills:

Category-1: for Spring shed management

Designation: Executive (Projects)

Essential:

·  Bachelor in Geology, Civil/Agriculture Engg. Masters in Geography with minimum one year of working experience in the development sector or Post Graduate in Rural Management,

·  Commitment of a minimum of two year

·  Fluency in English, Hindi

·  Hardworking, flexible, keen to learn

·  Highly efficient in MS Office tools

·  Excellent documentation skill (Report writing and preparing presentations)

·  Ability to drive two wheelers in mountain zigzag roads

·  Preference to work with the Govt. and PRI

Desirable:

·  Knowledge of aquifer and hydro geology, familiarity with tools like GPS, Brunton compass will be an asset

Category-2: INRM based livelihoods

Designation: Executive (Projects)

·  Bachelor in Civil/Agriculture Engg., Agriculture Science, with minimum one year of working experience in the development sector or Post Graduate in Rural Management, MSW, any other (10+2+4) bachelor Course

Essential qualities and desired work profile:

·  Bachelor in Civil/Agriculture Engg., Agriculture Science, with minimum five years of working experience in the development sector or Post Graduate in Rural Management, MSW, any other (10+2+4) bachelor Course and five years of experience

·  Commitment of a minimum of two year

·  Tremendous fluency in English, Hindi

·  Hardworking, flexible, keen to learn

·  Highly efficient in MS Office tools

·  Excellent writing skills in English

·  Experience in fund raising/ proposal formulation

·  Keen to travel to the villages under the working area and would pick up the issues for conversion into proposals raising funds accordingly to address them by the field teams

·  Co-ordinating Field teams and Head Office

Category-4: MIS coordinator

Designation: Executive (MIS & Accounts)

·  Bachelor in, IT or any other Engineering with minimum one year of working experience in the development sector or Post Graduate in Rural Management, Batchelor in Commerce with at least four years of experience in accounting and web based MIS management.

·  Commitment of a minimum of two year

·  Fluency in English, Hindi,Bengali

·  Hardworking, flexible, keen to learn

·  Highly efficient in MS Office tools, web development, managing web based portals

·  Excellent documentation skill (Report writing and preparing presentations)

·  Skill to impart training on web based monitoring system

·  Preference to work with the Govt. and PRI
