Research
Dissertation carried out for the degree of MCh. from Mumbai University
This was a prospective clinical study in the settings of a government general hospital with its related problems of lack of facilities and finances. I analysed the duration since trauma, stricture length, and surgical technique. My analysis includes causes of restricture. It also included post operative restricture rate and management of post operative strictures with optical urethrotomy.
This study helped me familiarize myself with research methodology and laboratory based work. It also gave me invaluable experience in the formulation of a protocol and in conducting a scientific study.
Communication Skills
I communicate with clarity and intelligibility in written and spoken English and Hindi, have the ability to build rapport, listen, persuade and negotiate with my colleagues & patients.
I am very comfortable in my communications with other doctors on the phone and in person. I always greetthe patient with a smile and have received their appreciation for the care provided. My experience of dealing with sensitive cases and difficult personal situations has helped me develop and reinforce a good degree of empathy for my patients, which helps a lot in developing a good rapport and ensuring that both the patient and his relatives or the care takers are on board.
I am meticulous in my notes keeping, which is of great help in the management of patients as well as for my colleagues.
