Battle at the Beaches is Australia’s first and only outdoor cheerleading competition, and we are excited to now be holding the event Manly Beach!
We are very pleased to be able to offer 4 bids to the AASCF Australasian Pinnacle, held on the Gold Coast in 2016!
The event is being held on Sunday November 6th on the Manly Beach, Ocean Front Promenade, opposite The Corso. This event is cheer only, and will be on a full size sprung floor. Warm up will be located a short walk from the competition area at the Royal Far West School, 22 Wentworth St, Manly.
In the event of rain, the competition will move to the Northern Beaches Indoor Sports Centre, located on Jackson’s Rd, Warriewood. (Opposite Warriewood Square). Coaches will be notified on Saturday 5th if the event is going to be moved. If there is light rain on the day we will cover the floor and wait, which will mean a delay in the schedule. Please make your athletes aware of the potential for this.
All judges are highly qualified and experienced with the AASCF judging system so they will be able to provide valuable feedback for you to use before Nationals.
Competitive categories offered are Cheer (All Star and Scholastic, including Novice), Group Stunt and Partner Stunt. Age divisions and levels are as per the AASCF/IASF Rules.
The competition judging will be based on the current USASF/IASF Cheer and Rules, i.e. the same as the rules being used at AASCF Nationals.
Trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in all categories. Grand Champion awards will be given in Levels 1, 2, 3, 4, 4.2, 5 and 6.
All athletes receive a participation medal.
Entry cost is $35 per athlete for one routine, plus $10 for each additional routine.
If athletes are entered only in group or partner stunt the cost is just $25.
If team numbers drastically increase this year, we may move Group and Partner Stunt events to a nearby location in Manly and run them concurrently. Preference for the beachfront competition floor will be given to teams.
All competing athletes must sign the attached waiver (or have it signed by a parent or guardian if under 18).
Entries close 4 weeks before the event.

Warm Up
Warm up will be held at the Royal Far West, corner of South Steyne and Wentworth St Manly. This is short 180m walk along the beachfront to the competition area.
Spectator Entry
Spectator entry will be free for standing room and we will have beach chairs available to rent to be used in the area immediately in front of the competition floor. Cost will be $20 and $10 will be refunded when the chair is returned to the tent. (Cash only)
Music
Team’s music should be brought by coaches/managers on the day on an iPod only. Coaches are responsible for playing the music for their own teams.
Merchandise
Battle at the Beaches merchandise will be available on the day along with Cheer Direct – Nfinity merchandise and Cheer Emporium - Bows.
Parking
Street parking is limited in Manly but there are many parking stations and also beachfront metered parking available.

Accommodation
Manly has an abundance of accommodation within walking distance.
The Novotel Manly Pacific, The Sebel Manly, Quest Manly and Manly Paradise Apartments are all very close by.
Below is accommodation that we have been fortunate enough to gain access to for any gyms looking for budget accommodation. This is also the location of the competition warm up.

We have 2 properties for you to choose from depending on the needs of your group;
Drummond House
Drummond House was built in 1924 and has 35 motel style rooms with 2-3 single beds and ensuite bathrooms. Each room is equipped with a TV and tea and coffee making facilities.
Rates - $110 per night per room including continental breakfast
All children to be accompanied by an adult in rooms.
Medical Centre
Our medical centre accommodation provides great group style accommodation. This floor has 14 rooms with 60 single beds (including some bunk beds) and shared bathroom facilities. The floor has a central dining and lounge room and TV s in each room.
Rates $49.50 per night per person including continental breakfast
Both our beautiful properties are located on the RFW site in central Manly. This position gives you very easy access to the beach, transport, local shops and restaurants and key Manly attractions.
