Quick Reference Guide - Aastra 55i Phone
/ Make a call
1A. Lift the Handset, or press a Line Appearance memory key, or press the Speaker key.
2A. Dial the number. You must dial a 9 first when call an external number.

2B. Press a speed dial memory key.
- or -
1B. Press the Directory softkey, then:
1. Enter the first letter of the name
using the keypad.
2. Use the Arrow keys to find the name.
3. Press the Dial softkey or pick up the handset.
- or -
1C. Press the Redial key, then press the Dial softkey or pick up the handset
**Note: There is a slight delay before initiating a call once you have finished entering a number. To immediately initiate the call, after you have finished dialing press the # key on the keypad.
Place a call on Hold
While on a call press the Hold key. The MWI flashes while a call is on hold. Press the flashing Line Appearance memory key or select the Pickup soft key to retrieve the call.
Mute a call
While on a call press the Mute key. / Retrieve a Message**
1. Press the Voicemail softkey.
2. Enter your PIN number and press #.

1. From a phone other than your desk phone dial 1-800-500-3817.
2. Enter your phone number and PIN.
- or –
1. From any phone dial your desk phone number.
2. When the voicemail starts press the * key.
3. Enter your PIN and press #.

1. Log into the CommPortal.

2. Click the Messages & Calls tab.
Transfer a call
While on a call:
1. Press the Xfer softkey.
2. Dial the number.
3. Press the Xfer softkey and hang up.
Program Soft Keys
To customize your phone’s softkeys for speed dial or other advanced features:
1. Log into the CommPortal** For assistance see ‘Access the CommPortal’ on the reverse side.
2. Click the Settings tab
3. Click the Phones tab
4. Click Configure your phone
5. Select the key that you would like to program
6. Selected it’s function from the drop down menu
7. Click Save Changes
