Rewrites, Late Assignments, and Incompletes (From student handbook)
- Rewrites/re-tests. All tests/assignments must be written or handed in on the due date. *At the discretion of the teacher, the student may be allowed to do a rewrite if both of the following conditions are met: a. student attends all available tutorials/additional work assigned, b. student can show purpose/cause for a rewrite. The higher grade received will be the one recorded.
- Late assignments. Any assignments handed in beyond the due date will be subject to penalty marks. The following penalty marks will be applied: 1 – 2 days: 10% 3 – 5 days: 20% & beyond 5 days: 30%. *In extenuating situations, at the discretion of the teacher, the due date can be adjusted. Students must communicate with the teacher ahead of time (anytime prior to due date & not on the day that it is due) to request any extension of a due date giving the reason.
- For all incomplete assignments, an allocated time after school (3:30 – 4:30 pm) once per week (day to be decided) will be provided as a form of detention to allow the student to complete the assignment with a supervisor. Any outstanding work not completed after 5 days (maximum penalty 30%) will be accepted up totwo weeks prior to the end of the respective reporting period, at which point a zero mark will be assigned.
PLEASE COME SEE ME BEFORE IF YOU CAN NOT HAND IN AN ASSIGNMENT ON TIME… Life happens!
MTO
Junior High students (grades 6-9) are expected to volunteer their time working with non-profit organizations as a requirement for their Christian Education service. Minimum 10 hours are required to be completed no later than June 1st for grade 6 – 8 students. Grade 9 students will be required to complete their MTO hours prior to the spring mission trip.
The minimum 10 hours equates to 20% of their overall Bible mark. Students can begin accumulating their hours from July 1st. In order to serve our greater community, a maximum of five hours are allowed from your local church. In addition, services to family members will not count towards MTO hours.
