Dear Parents/Guardians: I am very exciting that I am going to teach your child this semester. I am looking forward to meet or talk to you at some point during the semester. Please note that you can always reach me during school hours at the number and extension above or any time via e-mail.

Class Rules

**We are a family**

Be respectful and polite.

Be on time, prepared and begin bellwork at start of each class.

Take care of your classroom.

Cell phones or any electronic devices off.

Eating and sleeping in classroom are not allowed.

Listen!!... Don’t waste any minute of your educational time.

All other school rules apply

Supplies

  • One 3 Ring binder (1” minimum width)
  • 3 Dividers
  • 5 packs of index cards (desire size)
  • Paper,Pen, and pencil

**Donations of Dry erase markers/Construction paper/Kleenex/hand sanitizer for class use would be appreciated**

Class Procedures

  • When you enter the classroom begin bell work immediately.
  • If you are tardy, you must bring a tardy/late slip from the office or teacher.(Warning: every 2 unexcused tardy counts as an absent).
  • If you have questions raise your hand.
  • If you finish your work early you may read, study or help a classmate with classwork.
  • If you need to use the restroom, bring your agenda for me to sign and then sign out.
  • If you need to sharpen you pencil, do it at the beginning of the class, when teacher is not talking, and/or before a test.
  • If you need to borrow a pencil or pen I can provide it but you must return it.

Academic Honesty

It is expected that students will use genuine, sincere, and fair means for the accomplishment of the tests, tasks, or projects from which evaluations of progress shall be determined. Students found plagiarizing, copying or cheating in any way will receive automatic zeros and have phone calls made to their parents. In addition, a disciplinary slip will be given to student. Repeated offenses will result in a failing grade for the quarter or semester depending on the nature of the incident.

Absences

If you know ahead that you will be absent, let me know so I can give you the assignment. You are responsible for the assignments/ homework missed. It is up to youto inquire about missed work and tests. Remember: if you miss more than 3 days per nine weeks you must make up that time.

Make-Up Tests

If you miss a test or a quiz, you will have 3 days to make it up. I will not allow you to do any make up test or quiz after those 3 days. You will also have 3days to retake a test or quiz you failed for a grade no greater than 80.

Late Work
Homework assignments may not be turned in late. Papers and projects may be turned in late with a penalty.

Grading scale:

100-93= A92-85= B84-77= C76-70= D69-0= F

Grades:

Quarterly Assessments: 25%

Unit Test: 35%

Quizzes/Projects: 25%

Participation/Homework: 15 %( participation demonstrate your dedication to staying on task and knowing what is going on in class).

Binder:

Binders will be taken up for a grade at the end of the semester. It will count as a unit test (35%). I will check the binder at the end of each unit and I will give you a preliminary grade. You will be in charge of keeping a grade tracking chart and you will give it to me at the end of the semester. This is a good way to earn an excellent grade just for being organized!
