MINUTES

The Board of Aldermen of the City of Springhill, Louisiana met in regular session in the Council Chambers at Springhill City Hall on Monday, November 10, 2014 at 5:00 P.M. with Mayor Carroll Breaux presiding.

PRESENT:D. Nicole Frazier, Ross Fleming,and Ronnie Dees, Alderman.

ABSENT:Martha Edens and Dennis Smith.

Mike Dunaway, Public Works Director, opened the meeting with prayer.

Police Chief Will Lynd led the Pledge of Allegiance.

MOTION was made by D. Nicole Frazier, seconded by Ronnie Dees, to approve the minutes of the last regular meeting held October 13, 2014.

MOTION CARRIED.

PUBLIC COMMENT: None.

OLD BUSINESS: None.

MOTION was made by Ronnie Dees, seconded by D. Nicole Frazier, to send a zoning request to the Planning and Zoning Commission Board from Mac Pace for property located at 103 Edgar Street changing the zoning classification from R-2 Residence District to B-1 Neighborhood Shopping District.

MOTION CARRIED.

MOTION was made by Ronnie Dees, seconded by D. Nicole Frazier, to authorize the Mayor to enter into an agreement with LA DOTD for the State Project No. H.011689 Pavement Rehabilitation-Phase I Design at the Springhill Airport.

MOTION CARRIED.

MOTION was made by Ronnie Dees, seconded by Ross Fleming, to accept the proposal for the renewal of the Worker’s Compensation Insurance policy from LWCC and Boucher and Slack Insurance for the City of Springhill.

MOTION CARRIED.

MOTION was made by D. Nicole Frazier, seconded by Ronnie Dees, to authorize the Police Chief to purchase additional equipment for the 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe.

MOTION CARRIED.

MOTION was made by Ross Fleming, seconded by D. Nicole Frazier, to pay the bills for October 2014 totaling $77,316.30.

MOTION CARRIED.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: Mayor Carroll Breaux congratulated Police Chief Will Lynd and Alderman D. Nicole Frazier for winning their re-election campaigns.

Early Voting will be held on Monday, November 24 and Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at the Springhill Civic Center.

David Kunz, P.E., Project Engineer, with Balar Associates, Inc. has placed a bid advertisement with the Springhill Press and News Journal for the construction of Street Improvements within the City of Springhill, Louisiana. The bids will be opened at the next council meeting on Monday, December 8, 2014.
