Position:

Inside Sales Representative (Guelph)

Purpose:

The Inside Sales Representative will support the Sales Team, Project Managers, and Operations by providing clear, concise, and timely information in order to safely and economically produce, ship, and install quality products meeting or exceeding customer specifications and expectations.

Scope:

The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for accurate and timely quoting of customer requirements from concept through installation by producing take-offs, proposals, turnover and supporting documentation (sketches, drawings, reports, change orders, etc.) in a timely fashion and in accordance with Company Policy and procedures.

Principal Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Accountable for accurate and timely interpretations of customer requirements, drawings, specifications, etc.
  • Accountable for self review of and ensuring all take-offs, pricing,proposal submittal packages, turnover materials, and other materials generated are defect free prior to being issued to others for use
  • Responsible for initial set-up of project information in to company's Accounting / Project tracking software (presently Titan)
  • Assist, as required, in maintaining customer and project information in Company's Customer Relations Management software
  • Explore appropriate opportunities to improve safety, efficiency, costs, and accuracy of the department and company

Specific Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • When working with Sales on proposals, thoroughly read and understand all project requirementsin order to aid the Sales Team in providing accurate quotes
  • Ensure all work performed is reviewed and approved by the Vice-President of Sales & Marketing prior to release
  • Work with the Purchasing Department to obtain vendor, subcontractor, etc. pricing, as required
  • Create and utilize cost effective methods and/or products and services in order to increase the Company's competitive position
  • Work closely withProject Management, Operations, and Quality Departments to ensure projects can be produced, shipped, and installed as specified prior to quoting
  • Perform additional duties as required

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Traits Required for the Job:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction related field equivalent is preferred.
  • Previous inside sales experience
  • Significant experience in construction, manufacturing, and/or industrial settings
  • Detail oriented
  • A focused customer satisfaction approach in dealing with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Positive attitude
  • Free of any criminal record in which a Pardon has not been issued

Working Conditions

  • Open office high traffic environment with appropriate facilities
  • Office workstation cubicle
  • Workstations are equipped with a desk, chair, filing cabinet, mid height partitions, integrated office phone and computer
  • Top 3rd floor office location with stairway access
  • Normal office hours of operation 8:30 am – 5 pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break
  • Staff lunchroom facilities located on the 2nd floor
  • Regular visits to job sites and production facilities as required.
  • Will be expected to travel as needed.
  • Physical activities will consist of prolonged periods of sitting, periodic filing, inter-office walking, occasional site visits, and meeting room attendance.
  • Hot/cold weather, dusty
  • Industrial environment requires safety boots and Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Hours of work outside of the normal work day may be required
