Irene Mangulis brought the committee up to date on referrals and admissions for June 2004. She reported June 2004 admissions were twice as many as June 2003.
Discussion was held on various ways to increase revenue for The Meadows/Otsego Manor in the future.
Committee reviewed the revenue, cash receipts, monthly expenses and payroll through June 2004.
Russ Bachman reported he, Helga Berliner and County Attorney Jim Konstanty met with Neighborcare Pharmacy to discuss the pharmacy rate for residents. Neighborcare said they could go to $10.00 per resident day for the rest of the year. After discussion Representative Rothenberger moved to approve, contingent upon approval from Representatives Henderson and Friedell. Seconded, Dubben.
Representatives Dubben and Rothenberger approved the following:
Permission to hire a vacant funded Purchasing Clerk position #1 at base salary.
10-Sapphire Series 150 Air Mattresses @150 ea. $ 1,500.00
2-Turn-Select Pressure Ulcer Prev. Mat. @2,900 ea. $ 5,800.00
7-new Kiosks for the Caretracker system, updates software,
training, etc. $26,101.03
1-EKG Machine not to exceed $ 2,000.00
Permission for Charlene Higgins to attend a NYASHA
Conference - Hotel $119 and registration $359, plus
travel & expenses $ 478.00
Purchase new linens for Otsego Manor $20,000.00
Healthcare Monitoring - rental of wheelchairs and Kansas
Bariatric Bed-full electric mattress $ 4,637.00
Resolution to increase payment of rentals to Healthcare Monitoring $20,000.00
Amend the dollar amount on the following blanket Purchase Orders:

Mr. Bachman said he, Edmund Marchi and Jeff Emhof met with the manager of Sodexho. Committee reviewed the proposal for upgrading the meals at Otsego Manor. Committee said they would try the program, and if it didn’t work, they could go out for an RFP.
Mr. Marchi said at the April 22, 2004 Meadows meeting the committee asked the rehabilitation department to prioritize what equipment they needed at the present time. Representatives Dubben and Rothenberger approved the following purchases, totaling $38,372.92:
