  1. Team manager notes:
  • School team managers are responsible for completing the entry forms, finalise payments, submit required documents
  • Teams must stay in ranked order: 6 players
  • The reserve rule as applied as the National Tournament 2013/2014 will apply for replacements = The reserve player can be used at any time during the tournament but will slot in/play at the lowest board (6) and all the players move one board up from board 6. The original player can be put back, all move to original places. The technical official of that team must inform the Chief Arbiter one hour before the round start.
  • School team managers must available during all rounds as score officials and team management
  • School team managers are responsible for the discipline of their teams
  • All players must wear school uniforms during the tournament (no civvies/ regional colours/etc)
  • School rules apply during the tournament.
  • ALL players and managers MUST attend the prize giving.
  • Rounds: 60:60 – regional & provincial level = must notate
  • League play offs up to district level = 30:30 = notation not compulsory
  • Final position will be determined by GAME points(total points scored by the team),tie breakers: direct encounter, match points (national format)
  • Players as well as school team managers must be committed to available for all levels of elimination.
  • If there are less than 3 teams in a specific division they will play in an open division, but they will qualify for the division in which they entered.
  • Teams must play at the District Play off in the same rank order (1 – 6) as they played during the league. Only minor adjustments would be allowed.
  • Player positions may not change after District Play Offs, only replacements will be accepted.
  • PLEASE NOTE: teams who qualify for SANSC(National event) must be committed to DCAS arrangements for SANSC including transport, accommodation, pre-tournament activities (compulsory) as prescribed by DCAS – if any players/managers requests “special” arrangements regarding the above the teams will not be allowed to participate. = please make sure that all managers/players/parents are aware of this.
