Boden Sale Review
Fashion Show was a really lovely idea and the children (& their parents) really enjoyed it. Sales not so good this time so we feel as a committee we would rather support other fundraising projects, or perhaps at least rest this for a year or two.
Mothers’ Day
Time has caught up with us and we feel it would be too much pressure on school, committee members and staff to try to organise craft sessions as we had originally planned. We hope to run this next year.
Blue Bag Collection
Collection booked for Tuesday 28 April – bags will come 23 March so we can send out before Easter
Table Top Sale – Saturday 25 April 3-5pm
Caroline please check date with school calendar/Mrs CoupeACTION: CR
We would really like this to be a social event with BBQ as well as an opportunity for people to sell their items. We will promote it in the wider community but focus will be school. School community tables £5 / anyone else £10.
Julie to get licence for a bar & advertise in Burbage NewsACTION: JG
Chris and her husband can get matched funding from their employers so we hope to utilise this.
Post meeting note: The School has confirmed that Ground Force Day will run on the same day.
School Disco Revival – Saturday 13 June Burbage Village Hall
The Village Hall have agreed to let us use the hall without the bar so we are able to run our own. Julie will organise a Temporary Event Notice ACTION: JG
We hope this event will attract lots of people (school community) as it is local and although we haven’t confirmed the ticket pricing yet it is likely to be around £15 per person to include food. Possible start at 7pm as music has to finish at 11pm then clear out by midnight.
Disco contd.
We have several options of DJs/music to investigate which may affect the ticket price.
We would like to allocate a small budget to decorate the hall from PTA funds.ACTION: RF
Hazel will start designing posters for advertising once final arrangements are agreedACTION: HW
AOB
Easter Film Club – Thursday 26 March – suggestions for film please! Hotdogs, mini rolls & carton drinks to be provided. ACTION: RF
Caroline will do a poster/sell tickets from the office once we have agreed a filmACTION: CR
Easter Eggs to be bought for school to organise a huntACTION: RF
Discussion re spendingto be forwarded to Mrs Coupe –
We have agreed with Mrs Coupe to buy a PA system for the school which we just need costs for plus we would really like to be involved in the outdoor growing area so again need costs/what is required from school ACTION: CR/NC
Would Mrs Coupe/the school be happy with a whole school theatre trip again? We would love to go to the Watermill, Newbury (can we research shows?) or Chris suggested Steve Backshall’s Wild World Tour which is showing in Salisbury on 13 November? Caroline will discuss this with Mrs Coupe ACTION: CR/NC
How about an outdoor classroom area under/near the wooded area on the field? Discuss with Mrs Coupe if this would be something we could fundraise specifically for? Possibly something with outdoor seating & sails for shade?
Date of Next Meeting – Tuesday 21st April 3.30pm in school – we would like to invite the class representatives to this meeting if they are able to come - Julie please write letter ACTION: JG
