“for their combined overall contribution to Hockey. Thousands of young players over the last 25 years have been made better for the experience of playing for or playing in something organised by this husband and wife team. They have taken on many roles at their club and put in ceaseless effort to make everything they do a success but always for the benefit of others. This success provided a base for another long commitment to organising many county junior hockey competitions and involvement in the establishment of the Single System in Notts. Their input to hockey cannot be understated and they are very worthy of the highest honour we can bestow from our County Association.”

14. Other News & Questions
Look out! NHA are devising ways of getting people along to Council meetings – there might be something in it for you!
The university is interested in the possibility of an open league for Midlands men. They feel it is stifling their development. MRHA have a draft paper which will go to clubs for comment. We could try and get someone along from the league committee to the November Council meeting. Will put it on the Executive agenda for the October meeting
New Rules – look at the EHL website for umpiring hints & tips and the clips library
Cup competitions – Clubs reminded the EH control all entries to national cups
Please promote the development group at your club. Notts have one of the largest and best in the country. It would be sad to see it die because of lack of funding.
Highfields have plans for a new water based pitch, seminar room kitchen and toilets along with the replacement of the surface on the existing water based pitch.
Geoff Bail was sad to announce that Richard Cooper died suddenly a few days ago. A member at West Bridgford for over 35 years he will be sadly missed. WB are planning a ‘Coops’ Day – keep a look out on the WB website – all welcome.
