Job Description – Bottle Blowing Maintenance Engineer - New Role - The Fells

Working Hours: / Monday to Friday, 08:00am – 5:00pm (there will be a requirement to work weekends and nightshifts at times agreed in advance)
Main purpose of job: / The Bottle Blowing Maintenance Engineer will maintain bottle blowing equipment to a high standard in an effective manner, ensuring that safety, quality, & output targets are achieved.

Main Duties:

• Reactive & Corrective Maintenance as required

·  Completion of Asset Care Tasks

• Completion of Condition Monitoring Tasks

• Fault Finding on Blow Moulding Machines

·  Stores Management and Budget Adherence of bottle blower spares

• Drive/Support Improvement Projects within the blow moulding area

• Support for annual overhaul activity

·  Train and develop both operator and engineers in processing, fault finding and repair within the blow moulding area

Key Requirements:

·  Time Served Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship (C&G, SVQ, or equivalent).

·  Mechanical Engineering Experience in a Manufacturing Blow moulding Environment or Similar

·  Working Knowledge & Understanding of safe working practices.

·  Excellent problem solving & fault finding skills.

·  Able to work as part of a team, and independently.

·  Ability & Willingness to learn new techniques and working methods

·  Good written and oral communication skills.

·  Motivated, improvement driven with flexible ‘can do’ attitude.

·  Flexible hours of working required – agreed in advance of business requirement.

·  Computer Literate (including e-mail, MS Word, MS Excel).

Essential Skills:

·  Internal: Working knowledge of Sidel SBO Series1 & 2 blow molding equipment and processes.

·  External : Working Knowledge of bottle blowing Equipment ( Sidel , Krones Etc. ) or similar process

·  Experience processing changes to affect material distribution, weights, heights, and other physical properties/dimensions.

·  Experience with Pneumatic systems including pilot / tooling air pressure as well as high pressure circuit.

·  Hydraulic troubleshooting skills are required.

·  Knowledge of mould / tooling change procedures and steps/methods for line changes.

·  Proficient use of engineering tools including feeler gauges, clock gauge, etc.

·  Ability to help train others to improve their knowledge of processing.

·  Ability to adjust / set up / keep machinery operating to peak efficiencies to produce bottles bases on demand, and running production.

·  Overhaul machine parts including Low / High Pressure Valves.

·  Working knowledge of the Personnel Control Console (PCC) or Similar

·  Ability to fault find to component level

·  Ability to read the interpret information to determine faults.
