ABSTRACT

This file provides a template for writing papers for the conference. The conference proceedings will be published in an electronic format. The full paper file shall be written in compliance with these instructions. The author is asked to submit the paper in MS-Word and PDF Portable Document Format (PDF). Both files shall be saved with the full first author name as name of the file. Key Words: Maximum 4 Key words.

1. INTRODUCTION

This is a sample document format for submissions to the 2016Taiwan Rock Engineering Symposium. Although this document is provided in Microsoft Word format, the paper to be uploaded must be in Word and PDF format. There is no strict limitation to the number of pages, but it is suggested that the paper length should not exceed ten pages. Do not add page numbers.

2. SUBMITTING THE PAPER

The Full paper has to be submitted electronically by e-mail to the following addresses: Network 1: and Network 2:. And it should be submitted by 10Oct. 2016. Name your completed word and PDF documents as follows: TRES2016-lastname-paper title.doc and TRES2016-lastname-paper title.pdf

3. PAPER FORMAT

The uniform outlook will help the reader to follow the proceedings. This can be obtained most easily if authors use this template file to construct their papers. Please note the following details: this template is an A4 format. All text paragraphs should be single spaced, with first line indented by 10 mm (0.4 inch). Double spacing should only be used before and after headings and subheadings as shown in this example. Position and style of headings and subheadings should follow this example. No spaces should be placed between paragraphs.

3.1. Fonts

Papers should use 12-point Times New Roman font. The styles available are bold, italic and underlined. It is recommended that text in figures is not smaller than 10-point font size.

3.2. Tables and Figures

Figure captions and table headings should be sufficient to explain the figure or table without needing to refer to the text. Figures and tables not cited in the text should not be presented. Styles Heading Table and Caption Figure are available in this template for tables and figures. The following is the example for Table 1. Tables and figures should be placed close after their first reference in the text. All figures and tables should be numbered with Arabic numerals. Table headings should be above the tables. Figure captions should be centered below the figures. Minimum figures’ resolution: 200dpi.

3.3. Mathematical Equations

Use common fonts like Times Roman in your math equations. The steps of a mathematical argument can be numbered using a right-aligned tab for clarity, for example

(1)

4. Conclusion

References should appear at the end of the article in the order in which they are referenced in the body of the paper. The font should be 8 point, and the references should be aligned left. A suggested format for references is given below. Within the main text, references should be designated by a number in brackets [1], and they should precede a comma or period [2]. Two references cited at once should be included together [2,3], separated by a comma, while three or more consecutive references should be indicated by the bounding numbers and a dash [1–3].
