Personal Statement
As a highly enthusiastic, calm and motivated student my time with the Sea Cadets has given me a lot of confidence working in large or small groups of people. I have also gained superb leadership skills and gained many useful qualifications along with precious life experience. I take an interesting and enthusiastic approach to new and old activities, hobbies and adventures I face. I strongly believe that my disciplined approach to new events and problem solving skills match my desire for knowledge and adventure in all I do. I am a quick learner and always seeking learning opportunities, working well in teams as well as individually. This I hope will enable me to achieve my lifelong passion to progress up the ranks of a Deck Officer.

Work Experience
Agility Logistics, Liverpool July 2014-September 2014
Agility Logistics are a logistics company involved in shipping containers all over the world. My role within the company was a Data Clerk which involved adding clients to databases and checking and rechecking shipping details with the carriers and ensuring details were correct and accurate. I worked in a small team of 6, this meant that getting on with everyone within the team was important as was speed and taking great detail in my work. I was often called upon with short notice to do more hours to get the work completed on time.

Pacific Nuclear Transport Limited, September 2015 – October 2017
Pacific Nuclear Transport Limited are a shipping company based in Barrow-in-Furness who’s ships specialise in delivering nuclear cargos across the world. I was a deck cadet with the company for just over 2 years and during my time I learned many skills including celestial navigation, stability and many more surrounding the day to day workings of a merchant vessel. I have navigated coastal waters as well as open ocean navigation.

Hobbies and Interests
I have been in the Sea Cadets for 6 years and have worked my way up to APO cadet this is the highest rank a cadet can achieve before becoming a member of staff. I recently took part in crewing T.S. Royalist on a week long voyage around the South West coast. My time at the Cadets has given me experience and qualifications in snorkelling and also a BTEC qualification in Public Services. I am committed to cadets meeting twice a week and often give up most of my weekend volunteering and raising money for my unit.
