To comply with CKC Regulations, we will be unable to accept or substitute any entry reaching the Show Secretary after the closing date and time.

No post dated cheques will be accepted. A post dated cheque is one that is dated after the receipt of the entry. All N.S.F. cheques will be subject to a charge of $20.00. N.S.F. cheques are considered non-payment of entry fee and are punishable by disciplinary action and cancellation of awards. All fees must be paid before the show.
Attention USA Exhibitors: Please note that due to constantly fluctuating currency rates, discounted cheques will not be accepted. Personal cheques will be accepted, however, they are to be payable in Canadian Funds. If you send a cheque in US Funds, it must be made out for the full amount of the entry and no exchange will be refunded to the exhibitor. Please do not make cheques “Payable In Canadian Funds” or “At Par”, they will NOT be cleared by the banks. To simplify the process, we ure that you purchase bank drafts or money orders payable in Canadian funds. Your understanding and cooperation is appreciated. Thank You!
NON-MEMBER PARTICIPATION FEE
A non-member participation fee will be charged to a resident of Canada
who is a “non member” of the Canadian Kennel Club.
The non member participation fee is paid in any year a title is earned and
covers all titles and dogs owned by that individual.
In order for the title to be awarded, the non member will have a choice to either
become a CKC member or pay the non member participation fee. Failure to comply
within 30 days of notification will result in the title being withheld
and the dog cannot be moved up to the next level.
The fee applies only to dogs wholly owned by non member residents
of Canada and is not applicable to Canadian Kennel Club members .

Regular Classes
The following Regular Classes will be provided for both sexes

Veteran Class will be divided as follows:
7 years up to 9 years, 9 years up to 12 years, 12 years and older
ATTENTION: A special Ribbon and/or prize will be awarded to the OLDEST Veteran in competition (not necessarily the Winning Veteran)
Note: Awards of Merit will be made (at the judge’s discretion) at the maximum rate of one for every ten dogs competing for Best of Breed. This award will be made after the judging of Best of Breed.
POINTS
Chapter 20, Section 1: A dog awarded WINNERS at a Championship Show held under the CKC Dog Show Rules shall be credited with a number of Championship Points (ranging from 0 to 5) and the determination of the number of Championship Points to be credited to a dog awarded WINNERS shall be provided hereunder.
Section 2: The schedule to be employed in the determination of the number of points to be allocated a dog awarded WINNERS shall be as follows:

To determine the number of Championship Points earned by a dog awarded WINNERS, total all the dogs in competition which the dog defeated, directly or indirectly, for the highest of the following official breeds awards Winners, Best of Winners, Best of Breed, Best of Opposite Sex and then consult the schedule set fort. NOTE: In counting the number of eligible dogs in competition, a dog that is disqualified, dismissed, excused or ordered from the ring by the Judge shall NOT be included in the calculation of Championship Points.
Non-Regular Classes
Dogs entered in Non-Regular Classes must be entered in one of the CKC Regular Classes, Specials Only or Exhibition Only.
Brace Class: a brace shall be judged as a “similar” pair, size, gait & same stride. The term “identical” has been replaced by “similar” due to removal of the “same colour” requirement.
EVENT REGISTRATION NUMBER (ERN)
All dogs that are foreign born and foreign owned and enter Canada for the sole purpose of entering CKC events will require an Events Registration Number (ERN). To obtain an ERN simply do the following:
1. Send a photocopy of the dog’s Registration Certificate reflecting current ownership, for example AKC Registration Certificate with a written request for an ERN.
2. Include with the above a cheque or money order in the amount currently required payable to the Canadian Kennel Club.
3. Ensure that you provide the CKC with your full return address to enable the ERN to be sent to you
4. Faxed requests will be accepted. Please indicate your VISA/MasterCard number and expiry date, the card holders name and signature.
This Event Registration Number MUST be applied for within 30 days of the first day of entering a CKC event. Dogs may be entered as “LISTED”, however, failure to apply for an ERN within 30 days will result in cancellation of any wins, awards or scores.

CONFORMATION MOVING UP TO SPECIALS ONLY
A dog individually registered in the records of the CKC and has completed the requirement for a Championship in accordance with CKC Rules, after the closing date and time for the show, may be transferred from one of the Regular Classes to “specials Only”, providing the request is submitted to the Show Secretary in WRITING and on the appropriate form at least one hour prior to the opening of the show, by the owner or handler. When one or more Championship shows are held on the same day, in the same venue, the request for moving a Class dog to Specials must be made a minimum one hour prior to the scheduled start of the show for which the dog is being moved up.
PUPPY & VETERAN SWEEPSTAKES

Puppy Sweeps
Puppy Sweeps shall be for any dog 3 months up to but not including 18 months of age. To enter this class, the dog must be entered in one of the CKC Regular Classes or in Specials Only. There will be eight classes in all, divided by sex.
Baby Puppy Class: for Silkys 3 months of age up to but not including 6 months
Junior Class: for Silkys at least 6 months of age up to but not including 9 months
Senior Class: for Silkys at least 9 months of age up to but not including 12 months
12-18 Open: for Silkys at least 12 months of age up to but not including 18 months
The winners of all eight classes will compete for Best In Sweepstakes. A rosette will be awarded to first, second, third and fourth place in each class as well as to Best In Sweeps and Best Opposite Sex in Sweeps.
Veteran Sweeps
Veteran Sweeps shall be for any dog 7 years of age and up. To enter this class, the dog must be entered in one of the CKC Regular Classes, Specials or Exhibition Only. There will be six classes in all, divided by sex.
7 years up to 9 years: for Silkys at least 7 yrs of age up to but not including 9 yrs
9 years up to 12 years: for Silkys at least 9 yrs of age up to but not including 12 yrs
12 years of age & older: for Silkys 12 years of age and older.
Sweepstakes Prize Distribution
For both Puppy and Veteran Sweepstakes the Class Winners will compete for Best In Sweepstakes with the prize money distributed as follows:
50% of the Entry Fee for each sweeps class will go to the winner of each class
15% of the Total Sweeps Entry Fees will go to the Best In Sweeps
10% of the Total Sweeps Entry Fee will go to the Best Opposite Sex in Sweeps
25% will be retained for administrative purposes.
PROPERTY CLASSES

Entry Fee: $10.00 Each Class
The Property Class is a “FUN” class and is meant for the enjoyment of all exhibitors, spectator and dogs. Our judge will decide a winner of each of the following classes: Note: Altered dogs are eligible to enter this class but must have CKC Registration or ERN number. ALL DOGS ENTERED IN THE PROPERTY CLASSES MUST BE ENTERED AS EXHIBITION ONLY AS WELL IF THEY ARE NOT ENTERED IN THE SPECIALTY (ONE TIME FEE PER DOG. TOTAL FEE $20.00 PER DOG FOR FIRST ENTRY AND ONLY $10.00 PER ENTRY THEREAFTER).
When filling in the Entry Form please write which Property Class or Classes you wish to enter on the line provided on the Entry Form.

Rosettes and a small award will be presented to all class placings.
Rosettes will be given for up to Four Awards of Merit to be chosen at Breed level.
An award will be made to the “Highest Scoring” Silky in the Obedience Trial and the Rally Obedience Trial taking place this day (Saturday 16th August 2014) presented by the Kennebecasis Obedience Club.
THE MARIAN WAITE MEMORIAL TROPHY
This award is made in memory of the late Marian Waite. This lady introduced the Silky Terrier to Canada and her family and friends are proud to award it to the winner of Best of Breed at our National Specialty. The Trophy itself is retained by the MLSTC and the winner will have a keeper trophy.
