NEW KINDERGARTEN REPORT CARDS
The Ontario government is introducing new provincial reports in Kindergarten. For the first time, teachers across Ontario will be using standard templates for communicating children’s learning in the Full-Day Kindergarten Program. The TDSB began phasing in these new reports in the June 2017 reporting period.
The new Kindergarten reports will help parents understand their child’s progress during the course of the school year. They are part of Ontario’s updated policy on the assessment, evaluation and reporting of children’s learning in kindergarten, found in Growing Success – The Kindergarten Addendum 2016.
The attachedguide “Full-Day Kindergarten: Understanding Your Child’s Reports” has information to help families understand the format of the new reports and how they can support their child’s learning through ongoing communication with their educators.
REMINDERS
- Please do not post (e.g. youtube) material that includes students other than your own children. This includes concerts and assemblies.
- The parking lots at both Castlebar and Norseman are for staff only. Parents/caregivers are not to be entering the lots at any time.
- The Adventure Playground is closed to all students and caregivers/parents in the morning before school and after school until 3:20 p.m.
- Norseman and Castlebar continue to follow the Boomerang Lunch policy. All waste and recyclables are “packed back” home so that they can be properly sorted and disposed of at home.
