Hello!
I would like to welcome you (and your child/teen) to SummerStage 2012. My name is John Barthelmes, the Producer and Artistic Director of the Performing Arts Summer program. You can contact me any time at 585-305-4767 or .
This letter will hopefully answer questions you might have about the program. It also provides you with forms that need to be filled out and returned with your child/teen at the end of the second day (Medical Release, Audition, and Volunteer).
Schedule
The SummerStage program begins Monday June 25. It runs Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 6pm-9pm (Junior program runs 5-6pm) until July 19. There are no rehearsals July 2-6.
Rehearsals and performances take place at the Victor Education Center, 953 High Street (on the Victor Central Schools campus).
Auditions will take place the first two evenings of the program. Audition material will be taught the first night; auditions will occur second night. You will be asked to sing one song from The Little Mermaid. The Junior program will go through a modified audition process, just so they can see what it is like. Wear comfortable clothes to dance!
Attendance
Attendance at each rehearsal is required. Please be there and ready to go before the start time.
Each evening will start out with a class session (either taught by a production staff member or a guest artist). The rest of the evening we will be working on the final production. If your child/teen will be missing several rehearsals, we need to know this ahead of time so we can schedule around the absences. We will do our best to schedule around conflicts. Please note however that absences (other than known conflicts) will not be tolerated.
Performance dates
Performances are scheduled for Friday July 20 (7:30pm), Saturday July 21 (7:30pm) and Sunday July 22 (2pm).
Volunteer/Ad/Medical/Audition forms
Please fill out the Volunteer, Medical and Audition forms and send them with your child/teen ASAP. This will help to make initial registration the first day go smoother. The Advertisement form will be due later in July. Please let me know if you have any questions about these forms.

If you need to contact your child during a rehearsal, we will have one cell phone with us. Please call 585-317-8510.
Parent Meeting
We will have a parent meeting for the older kids program Tuesday June 26, after rehearsal right at 9pm. We will have a parent meeting for the junior program Tuesday June 26 after rehearsal right at 6pm. Please try to attend this meeting. We will be talking more about the program and answering any additional questions you may have.
