I hope you have had a wonderful summer so far! My name is Ms. Jongerius and I will be your kindergarten teacher. It is almost time for school to start and I have spent the summer getting ready to have you in my class.
We are going to have so much fun in kindergarten. This year you are going to learn many new things. We are going to learn all about the alphabet, sing songs, read exciting stories, learn about God and so much more. You will also make lots of new friends!
I have a list of some school supplies needed for your first day of school:
1 Bottle of Elmers Glue and 4-6 Glue Sticks
1 Box of Crayons (any amount is great)
1 pack of #2 Pencils (regular size, Ticonderoga brand is best) and erasers
1 Box of Kleenex Tissue
1 Pack of Antibacterial Wipes or Bottle of Hand Sanitizer
1 Pack of Washable Markers (any amount is great)
1 Plastic Folder with a pocket on each side (nothing in the middle, calendars will be taped inside so please make sure it is PLASTIC)
1 Primary Journal Composition Book (K-2nd Grade-found at Target or Walmart-may also have a black cover-so either cover is fine-check other all school supply sections-make sure journal has half pic/half writing on page)
1 Shoebox to keep at home—project will be explained at a later date
(Please do not label any materials, but the folder and journal)
Before school starts on August 24th, I would like to have the chance to meet you and your parents! On Wednesday, August 23rd, we are going to have Orientation from 10am-11am in our classroom (Rm 2) at Grace. We have an activity to show you around the school so you are ready for the first day of kindergarten. You are going to meet me and see your new classroom! I can’t wait to see you! Please bring all your supplies on the first day of school. If you aren’t quite sure about supplies please ask first to make sure you get the right ones. I will go over them at Orientation as well.
