DURAWATT® CL electric water heater(s)with Cement Lined storage tanks as manufactured by PVI Industries, LLC of Fort Worth, Texas. Supply quantities and model numbers as indicated on the plumbing schedule

PART 1 – GENERAL

AThis section includes gas-fired storage water heaters for potable water.

1.4SUBMITTALS

AProduct Data: Include rated capacities; shipping, installed, and operating weights; furnished specialties and accessories for each model indicated.

B Shop Drawings: Detail equipment assemblies and indicate dimensions, required clearances, components, and size of each field connection

CWiring Diagrams: Detail for wiring power signal, differentiate between manufacture- installed and field-installed wiring

DField Test Reports: Indicate and interpret test reports for compliance with performancerequirements. A copy will be furnished to the owner.

EMaintenance Data: Include in the maintenance manuals specified in Division 1. Include maintenance guide and wiring diagrams

1.5REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS

AConform to applicable code for internal wiring of factory wired equipment

BUnits: ETL, UL or CSA Certified as a Complete Water Heater Assemblies.

AListing: The water heater will be listed UL listed to UL 1453.

1.8WARRANTY

AThe elements and all heater parts will have a one-year warranty. Storage tank will have a _____ three-year or ___ 5-year (optional)warranty covering manufacturing or material defects, and/or the production of rusty water. . This summary is not a warranty. Complete copies of all warranties and service policies, including all exclusions and conditions, will be presented to the owner as part of the submittal package.

PART 2 – PRODUCTS

2.1MANUFACTURERS

AAvailable Manufacturers: Manufacturer shall be a company specializing in manufacturing the products specified in this section with minimum five years’ experience.

BThe water heaters shall be UL listed as a complete unit. The heater shall satisfy current Federal Energy Policy Act standards

CManufacturers: PVI is the basis of design. Acceptable manufacturers shall be subject to compliance with the requirements.

2.2CONSTRUCTION

AAfter the steel tank is entirely fabricated, it will be completely lined with cement through a rotational molding process. No magnesium anode rods will be required to protect the tank from corrosion. All tank fittings will be of silicon bronze. Tank shall have a rated working pressure of 150 psi and shall be tested at 300 psi.

BHeating elements will be copper sheathed. Heater will include an immersion-type high-temperature cut off switch that will be individually fused to the magnetic contactors to provide power to the elements. Elements shall be controlled by an immersion-type adjustable thermostat. Control and power circuits shall be factory fused. A 120-volt control circuit transformer will be included.

2.3PERFORMANCE

AWater heater shall meet the requirements of ASHRAE 90.1 - 2010

2.4WATER HEATER TRIM

AWater heater will be equipped with an immersion operating thermostat, an immersion temperature limiting device and an ASME rated temperature and pressure relief valve.

PART 3 – EXECUTION

3.1INSTALLATION

AInstall water heaters level and plumb in accordance with manufacturers written instructions and referenced standards.

3.2FINISHING

AThe heater will be completely packaged, requiring only hookup for electrical and plumbing. The heater will be insulated with multiple layers of heavy-density fiberglass, jacketed with powder-coated steel panels, and mounted on heavy-duty channel skills. The heater will fit properly in the space provided and installation will conform to all local, state, and national codes.

3.3START-UP

AStart up on the unit, including flue gas analysis, will be performed by factory trained and authorized personnel. A copy of the startup report will be provided to the owner.
