NYMONICS - This name of a very enthusiastic DOO WOP-formation from Hamburg/Germany should call attention of all Rock'n'-Roll-fanatics in the whole wild world of music. The members derived from such weird and breathtaking bands, such as Juke and the Ducktails, Reeds, Dirty Doggies, Street Corner Harmony Club (a capella), Session Up, Straight to the Barand the Jiving Rascals. For anyone who doesn't know what DOO WOP is, just listen to a CD from the Marcels. Such music contains nonsense syllables as for example 'rama-lama-ding-dong'.

The NYMONICS are ambitous to combine such tongue-braking lyrics with up-tempo instrumental accompaniment and lavish background vocals. Shortly after the band had got started rehearsing, all four of the guys were sure to have found the receipe to have success while still having fun playing the music they all like. During some a-capella-sessions the idea arose to put the knowledge of arrangements concerning the Manhattan-Sound into full use by backing up their vocalswith a double-bass, Gretsch lead-guitar and a Jazz drum-set.They had found their style. The DOO WOP-MASSACRE !!!

Turning ballads into Jive-arrangements and aggressive Rock-a-Billy hitters into powerful vocal Roch'n'-Roll proved to be the right concept for causing any kind of the audiences' reactions such as uncontrolled joyous outbursts and fainting (young girls). One supporting reason for these successful performances certainly is the way these guys dress:

Zuit-suits - that says it all!

The NYMONICS are:

Stephan Griebel - Lead-Guitar, Vocals

His strange charisma and his dynamic, twisted movements support his loose mouth in performing a hilarious stage show. He enjoys Swing, Jive and Vocal Rock'n'Roll and that shows in many of the song arrangements.

Florian Hansmann - Double Bass, Vocals

As the youngest member of this gang, his extremely positive personalityis of great aid in his daring acrobatics during the stage show he performs together with Stephan.

Andreas Krause – Drums, Vocals

He is the living groove metronome who pounds away in the background.(You may call him the new Gene Cooper!)His cool method to ignore original arrangements of certain songs influences the style of the NYMONICS in a refreshing way. His critical personality is an important driving element towards perfection in this band.
