Where is the course held?

The course takes place in Dublin City Centre, in DanceHouse on Foley St. DanceHouse is readily accessible from Heuston, Connolly, Busaurus, the Red Luas line, and airport links.

Who accredits the course?

The course is accredited by NUI Maynooth through the Dept of Applied Social Studies

How much does it cost?

€1250.00, this includes your registration with Maynooth, all tuition and materials

Are there any bursaries?

NYCI does not offer bursaries. However, a number of County Council Arts Offices offer bursaries to participants living or working in the relevant county. Check with your County Arts Officer. Some employers contribute towards fees and some participants have been able to access training funds to participate.

Is the fee tax deductible?

No.

Can I pay in instalments?

Absolutely. We generally collect the fee in 3 instalments over the year, but have come to individual arrangements with participants in the past.

Should I be nervous about the group interview?

No. We are giving you the opportunity to find out more about the course and what to expect, and we want to hear about you and why you want to take part.

What award will I have at the end of it?

Level 7 HEA award, Special Purpose Certificate

I am nervous about returning to education.

We understand your reservations and you’d be surprised how many successful graduates felt like this at the beginning! Don’t be nervous. You’ll have meetings with your tutor and you’ll have support sessions on study skills and tackling the assignments. While you may feel daunted, it’s very unlikely that you won’t succeed if you put the effort in.
