iPad Announcement

Today is the deadline for all students to pay their iPad fees. Beginning Monday, students with unpaid fees will have their iPads taken up.

Picture Day Announcement

Picture Day will take place on Monday, September 18, during second period. The photographer will stay until halfway through fourth period to ensure that you everyone has an opportunity to have their photo made. Make sure to dress nicely and smile pretty!

ID Announcement

If you received a green temporary ID, you may go to the library DURING BLOCK LUNCH this week to exchange it for a temporary ID CARD. This week ONLY!

Students – please do not wait until the 8:10 bell to get your temporary ID. The line gets long and it may make you tardy to class. If you arrive to school and realize you do not have your ID, head straight to the library to get a temporary one. The library is open at 7:50am to print temporary IDs.

AVID Announcement

Today is the last day of In-N-Out burger ticket sales during block lunch. The In-N-Out burger truck is coming to Killough Monday at 5PM, they’ll be grilling burgers but you must buy a ticket today for $5, you get a burger, chips and a drink. Mrs. Werts and Mrs. Gonzalez will go around to all rooms during advisory time today to collect money from teachers and students.

Open Gym Announcement

Today during block-lunch we will have volleyball during open gym. Remember that food and drink are not permitted in the gym at any time.

Skyward Forms Announcement

If you received a letter last week that you had not completed your Skyward forms, you only have until today to get them completed.The computer lab (Rm 116) will be open during block lunch today and tomorrow to get these forms completed and have your name checked off. Please make this a priority and get it done.

PSAT Announcement

We have some GREAT news. We still have about 25 spots left for 9th graders to sign up for the PSAT, and have decided to open it up the Google Form for students to sign up if they are still interested. Due to a law passed on July 27th, if you score high enough on the PSAT, your scores can exempt you from having to take the Algebra or English STAAR EOC exams. Mrs. Coen will be sending out the Google Form again after announcements. If you have already signed-up PLEASE DO NOT SIGN-UP AGAIN. This will be a first-come, first-serve basis. Please only fill out the Google Form once. Mrs. Coen will be emailing students on Monday to let them know whether or not they will be taking the PSAT.

Latin Dance Club Announcement

The Latin Dance Culture Club meets today during B-Block in the Learning Lounge with Ms. Lerwick. Come and enjoy some salsa, bachata, cumbias and other Latin music. Dancing is welcomed.

StuCo Announcements

-Collections for Hurricane Harvey victims may be brought to room 226 or given to student council officers. We will collect until September 21st and deliver on the 23rd. Thanks so much for your assistance!

-Homecoming is around the corner, so order your Homecoming Tshirt now!

Forms are available outside room 226. T-shirts are $10 before the deadline of September 22 and $15 after.

- Rainforests are being cut down at the rate of 100 acres per minute

-Happy Hispanic Heritage month! which begins today September 15th & goes through October 15th Fact of the day: Latinos are the US' second fastest growing ethnic group with 57 million people

-Volleyball has an away game at L.D bell starting at 5:30 so go root them on to victory tonight!

Next week, LHS is going green. What does that mean for our campus?

-Monday is World Water Monitoring Day, make sure to wear blue and use reusable water bottles.

-Thursday is Zero Emissions Day, don't use or minimize the use of fossil fuels and be sure to wear green.

-Friday is a Car Free Day-ask to carpool with a friend, walk or ride a bike to school to help save energy.
