Dear Fellow Librarians,
I want to invite you to make plans NOW to attend the 3rd Central Alabama Spring Library Workshop. I would also like to encourage and invite librarians from our neighboring states of Florida, Mississippi, Tennessee and Georgia. I hope you know that the annual State Library conference at Shocco Springs is September 19-21, 2011.This workshop in May will “keep you going” until we meet in September. The only cost will be $5.00 for your lunch (unless you come to Prattville on Friday night May 6th). If you are coming to the workshop but do not want to drive in on Saturday morning there are several hotels near Prattville 1stBaptistChurch (See info listed below). By attending this workshop, it will allow you to attend other classes at the State Conference in September. You will, of course, receive lots of great information and get that extra boost to “keep you going” until we meet at Shocco in September. Because our ministry can be demanding, we need to get together so we can keep the creative juices flowing. There is no better way to keep the library ministry fresh and relevant than to meet with fellow librarians and share our triumphs and troubles alike.
This workshop is made possible by gifts of the Alabama Baptist through the Cooperative Program. However, along with that we have the support of Mike Jackson in the Leadership and Church Health Ministries at the State Board of Missions in Montgomery. Be sure to check the website for the State Board of Missions often to keep up with all that is going on in our organization the website is . Do not forget about the website and sign up for the eNewsletter. It has some great information about the library under ministries. Watch my church website I try to send our webmaster all info about anything going on with our organization. I also put info about our meetings on Morlee Maynard from Nashville has also started a Library network much like Facebook So if you are interested in interacting with church Librarians as you have questions, prayer concerns, ideas, new titles, and pictures of your activities to share you have to join the network.
