1. Purpose. To assign responsibilities and provide direction for a ship visit on Wednesday,7Oct, Thursday, 8Oct, and Friday, 9 Oct 2009.
2. Background. Lake Champlainwillhost a visit as detailed below:
a. Date: 7, 89Sep 2009
b. Time: 0830-1500
c. Group Description: Business Leaders and “Centers of Influence” throughout the community, escorted by a representative from SURFOR PA.
d. Number: 8, including SURFOR PA escort

f. Transportation: Helo transportation is being provided and coordinated through CNSF from N. Island NAS.

h. Uniform: Uniform for personnel involved will be the uniform of the day. Tour of ship will be led by______.
This visit presents an excellent opportunity to showcase LAKE CHAMPLAIN’soperations and capabilities to key influential leaders.
- Itinerary
0830Arrival of guests at Flight Deck Triage.Guests are greeted in Flight Deck Triage by CO and ______. There will be a group photo taken with the Captain and a safety brief given. Tour begins.
1130Tour ends in the CO’s Mess. Lunch in the CO’s mess with CO and designated ship’s representatives.
1300Group escorted to HangarBay to watch Damage
Control training and demonstration (or weapons exercise, flight operations, or similar).
1400Group escorted to ship’s store.
1430Group transits to flight deck triage for farewell
ByCO, safety brief, and departure.
1500Group departs ship via helo.
4. Action. All Department Heads ensure travel routes are clean and presentable. The following responsibilities have been assigned:
a. Media Division/PAO. Provide 8 Class “A” Welcome Aboard brochures upon arrival. Provide tour of ship to guests and escort guests during visit. Assign a photographer to remain with group all day, and provide photos of guest’s arrival with CO and CD of the day’s images upon guest departure. Provide a daily Power Point report to SURFOR PA at the end of each working day, according to template provided.
b. Air. Prepare flight deck triage for arrival/departure
Prepare HangarBay for tour. Provide static display of aircraft on flight deck (if practical) and subject matter expert to brief flight operations.
c. Medical. Prepare Medical for visit. Provide subject matter expert to give thorough medical tour.
d. Deck. Prepare Well Deck and Forecastle for tour. Provide subject matter expert to give operations brief.
- Supply. Provide lunch in the CO’s Mess for guests. Ensure ship’s store is open and has cash on hand. Provide two (2) staterooms for guests to use.
- Engineering. Provide damage control training and demonstration in HangarBay for guests.
- Operations. Prepare CIC for tour.
- Security. Prepare Gym for tour.
- Navigation. Prepare Bridge for tour.
