The Trent Summer Sports Camp is committed to protecting the privacy of camp families and campers. The following information will provide you with an overview of how any confidential and personal information will be collected and used by the camp.

A significant amount of information is collected from you about your family and your children. In general, we collect this information in order to (1) offer programs and services that meet your needs and interests, and to (2) ensure a safe and enjoyable camp environment. The following list provides some specific examples of our purpose in collecting information from you:

  • process registrations
  • collect fees
  • communicate information about our programs
  • assess needs and interests assemble statistics on our customers
  • act on your behalf in cases of injury or emergency
  • adapt our activities to the unique characteristics of your children
  • acknowledge donations or accomplishments
  • assign campers to specific groups or activities.

Information is collected through registration forms, forms you complete on our website, health forms, and through individual conversations between you and the camp staff. We do not collect information without your knowledge.

We are committed to a safe, nurturing, and caring camp environment, and to adapting our activities to the needs and abilities of our campers. Therefore, information you provide about your child may be shared in confidence with the camp's health care, program, and administrative staff in order to meet these goals. Information about campers with life-threatening conditions (eg. allergies) or conditions which increase their vulnerability (eg. asthma) may also be shared with other staff involved in the operation of the camp (eg. lifeguards, food service staff). During an emergency, information may be shared with emergency service personnel. In all of these situations, information released will be limited to only that which is absolutely necessary to assist the camper.

Your personal information is not provided or sold to any external organization for any purpose, except where required by law (eg. Child & Family Services Act). We will take every step to protect the confidentiality of and access to the information you provide. Your personal information is kept secure for a minimum period of seven years after the age of majority of the camper, as required by law. Access to information outside the camp season is limited to authorized senior staff of the camp.
