A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of Ned Sayre Compton.

WHEREAS, Ned Sayre Compton was born in Louisa, the son of the late W.D. and Laura Vanhorn Compton; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Compton retired from Huntington (Inco) Alloys in 1989 and from the Lawrence County Fiscal Court in 2009. An avid rancher, he loved to ride horses and tend to his cattle. He was a member of many charitable organizations, including the Beef Cattle Association, and the Lawrence County Saddle Club. He was President of the Farm Bureau Board, and a former member of the Lawrence County Extension Board; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Compton served God as a member of the Louisa United Methodist Church, where he served on the finance committee; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Compton was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Avis Foley; and his brothers, Nick, Glen, Jack, Craig Tyson, and Jay. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Aileen Daniels Compton; his children, Nedra Compton (Jim) Fennell, Tyson Compton, and Tawn Sayre Compton; his daughter-in-law, Bonita Compton; his sisters, Corlis Barnette, Fern Short, Maris Lucas, Joy McComas, Janis (Ray) Hayes, and Iris Freelander; his brother, Dave (Kathy) Compton; three grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Compton departed this earthly life on February 2, 2011, and an entire community joins his family and friends in morning his loss;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

âSection 1. The Senate does hereby express its most profound sense of sorrow and proffers its sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Ned Sayre Compton.

âSection 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving memory of Ned Sayre Compton.

âSection 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Senator Walter Blevins for delivery to the family.
