1. Have everyone write down their current weekly spending on all food, cleaning, diapers, toiletries, etc..

2. Then multiply the number of people in your household by 14

3. Subtract from the number above to see how much you can save

II. Getting Started: The Stockpile Principle

A. The basic idea

1. Buy at the lowest price

2. Work with what you have

B. Stockpile prices without coupons

1. Markdowns in meat, dairy, produce, and bakery

2. Clearance Shelf

3. Loss Leaders Check the Quick List

4. Low prices at stores that you might choose to visit infrequently (Sam’s, Aldi, TJ’s)

C.  Be sure to take advantage of Aldi and Angel Food if you don’t have much time to shop

III. Couponing

Couponers have the largest advantage because we can consistently get the lowest prices

A. Walk through a week of couponing

1. Sunday –Buy 2 papers or get them friends and recycling

2. Organize the coupons using one of the methods below.

c. envelopes

B. Menu plan being sure to use what you have on hand. Nothing fancy-- A scrap of paper

Maybe a running plan

C.. Then make a list of the things you need to have to complete your menu and any other needs you have. The best places to do this kind of shopping are Aldi and Walmart. White board list.

D. Time for matchups. I will only go over Publix and Kroger because they are the best options for saving money. Once you learn how to work them, you will be able to shop anywhere.
