Ongoing Developments for 2015:
-The search for an editor (Outside the Americas) is actively underway
- Dr. Olsen is acting as interim editor in the interval
-Over the last several years, the overall number of articles in Pediatric Radiology has increased
-Page budget increased from 120 to up to 160 pages temporarily in order to reduce the queue of article waiting to be published in print
-13 yearly issues; 12 monthly issues + up to 2 special issues
-2 supplements for meeting abstracts from SPR and ESPR
Summary:
The journal is in a state of transition following the unfortunate passing of Dr. Sebag in November 2014. Currently, Dr. Olsen is acting as interim editor (Outside the Americas) and Springer and the European editorial group are actively working to find a new editor (Outside the Americas).
Overall, Pediatric Radiology continues to thrive and remains the leading pediatric radiology specific journal in the world. We continue to have strong leadership from our editor for the Americas, Dr. Strouse, as well as from the assistant editors and editorial board.
The journal receives submissions for all over the world, although the majority of articles continue to be from the United States. The journal is now able to be more selective in terms of which articles are published.
The publications committee will continue to work with the editorial board, Springer and the society membership to make sure all members are able to access the journal, with the option of both print and online editions depending on their preference.
